Can't wait to see how the new features is going to be, and hope that they include things that the fans have suggested.
I created a config file in mods folder and it seems to work fine. For example, if I change food storage values I can immediately see the changes when I load my game.
However, I still can't get goat_year to work. It didn't work for me back then (when you just introduced this variable) and it didn't change since.
Playing a new game (first campaign mission) created after updating to 1.5 test. Goat_year is set to 5, but kids still take about 90 days to grow up by 1 year. IIRC, values > 90 also do not work.
Am I missing something?
Updated the testing branch to version 1.5.1 with a bunch of bug fixes:

added another way to find the hope lab
add where buttons for several plot notice hints
fixed weemen event, get a flamethrower not rocket launcher
fixed berries event, allow researching again
fixed people dying with no notice

also everybody can delete ";"s and change values, so you should have no problems in making config file mods
When i download mods by adding it in the workshop, i cannot find them on the harddisc, its not in the ...\com.sarahnorthway.rebuild3\Local Store\mods\ directory, but in #ShjaredObjects are some "SOL-files, impossible to open...
I wantet to have a small look in the mods rom others to "learn" abit from that file configuration - so wher are those files, how can i identify them and how can i look into them? ;)

My idea is: Keep counting ages like how it's normally done and let grown-up children find a relationship and get married once they reach 20! Or, for the liberal hearts out there, we should let grown-up children find romance after they turn 14 but only allow them to get married and get pregnant after they turn 20. How does that sound?
