I was wondering about changing your status with a settler inside your own colony.
I'm thinking I became hated with a couple because of the random "kill their zombie-fied loved one " event.
Does your status with a settler in your own colony ever change to positive once it's gone negative?
I haven't played for a while, and wonder whether it's tied to happiness, or just hating your character.
Happiness should be changeable, with things they like, like hanging out (working) with friends, fireworks, having a pet,... will now and then add some notification mentioning it, with a value of how much their happiness was increased. (Mind, being unhappy and lonely on a task they have no skill in can drive a survivor to lose their superstition faith. Might take a while, but it's convenient to rid them off beliefs you disagree with.)
Hating your character, as in being in the list of relationships with 3 other settlers, but as an enemy, -should- at least be possible to get dropped out of the list by having others take your place. Have him hang out with 3 other settlers until they make up the entire list.
Even so, it's usually best to just pull them away and do nothing with the zombie, it will wander off and no one cares
