metal body armor - does the crystal change the stats?
i want to make now a metal body armor which needs some crystal too. in the dialog i can choose between the dirrefent colors i have which have different strenght. but does they affect somehow the armor?

i have green, white and blue chrystals right now. i think about using the blue one but i dont want to waste them when there is no effect since i have just a few.

You can indeed but I find the white is the best for when you are down in the deep :D

Another nice tip if you are setting a planned route so you can find your way back and forth from the depths and your base is to bring some metal back wall and put it wherever you place a glow torch (fire torches tend to go out eventually) as it reflects light much better then the rock :D

In regards to the suits getting better depending on which crystal you use I think it should be implemented and I have an idea it was meant to be based on the fact crystals have a strength value :D

Also if you want to farm monsters for quick research points don't have light around you (Be sure you can handle them easily before doing this of course as they are stronger without light) :D

nice tipp with the metal background. i use the light goo jar instead of flares but that should work too.

yeah thats why i asked because they have stats so i expected them to reflect that on the suits too.

one question about the armor..i have now researched it i have batterys but till now i was not able to light even the older armors up because it seems i need a device for it. can you tell me the name of it so that i can see how to reasearch it?!

Sure it's called a Regulator and is under equipment in the crafting menu. :D

Also the early suits are not working correctly right now. Suits crafted with goo as the light source are supposed to glow without power. This came from a dev according to another poster.

:D

-.- i researched it some time ago but didnt build it because i havent seen any use to it :P

what, really?!:.damn....why should i spend then crystals and batterys and research time into it when goo does the job too?!
does the chrystal light is stronger or something else?

No it's only supposed to be for the early suits as you won't have Regulators at that stage. At the moment other then the different light colours you have no need to use crystals unless it says a specific crystal colour on the blueprint :D
As I said though this should change as time goes by :D

is there any button to turn the light on/off and how to i recharge the energy bar with the batterys? i cant palce them on it or in the charackter slots....sometimes this game is so confusing :D
edit: maybe i rebuild a old one to see how the goo light looks like...

Just keep them in your inventory and when the power goes to 0 a battery will refill it and you will get an empty battery instead. Currently you cannot re-charge batteries so be careful how you use power and no you cannot turn the suit on off at the moment :D

ok, so there is no need for me doing something. it drains pretty quick and removing the part all the time for it to go off is annoying.
i think i really make a goo suit for digging in caves. thx for the infos!

either equip a lether armor MK1 or MK2, they don't drain energy.
or unequip the energy regulator when you don't need light, you can keep the armor on, for the other bonus.

i rebuild a mk2 with goo and using that for digging. the light source on it is strong enough. before that i had always take flares with me and other lightsources because i could not see anything -.-

I place torch and glowstick where i mine, and pick up them when i'm finished mining, at least in jungle and outland. In Sewers, i'm much more carefull.

i did that too but now i dont see the point in it. the light source ir strong enough so that i see if there are holes and the enemys are in my currect region not the slightest danger for me.
the only thing i do is placing goo for my path every 10-20m to lead my direction underground.
i want to dig down to the core now, i hope it doesnt take to long.
