Quick item transfer from inventory to container?
Dragging is a drag! Is there a keystroke combo that will auto sort perhaps too?

You can use ctrl + click to multiple select items then drag them all over at once...
ha thank that was easy
whats wrong with a loot all command? to much to ask for? com'on the archaic days of drag an drop should be gone
"loot all" = "empty" button next to the "close" one when you open a container.
Mikeydsc, since loot all is already implemented on containers, are you actually talking about "put all my stuff in the container"? unless I misunderstood..
Well, I think a good solution would be shift-click an item to send it to an open container for quickly sending items between inventory and container, similar to how Minecraft/Terraria/Star Bound handle inventory to container transfers. I find half the time when I click and drag the game loses my mouse button detection and I drop the item rather than moving it to the container. I've lost some items this way when this happens over the trashcan.
Just another quick tip for those that may not already know it but you don't have to actually open the container to drag and drop stuff into it. Simply drag items over the in-game storage unit and as long as there is room your items will go into it (this has the added advantage of making items auto stack so you don't have to manually drag and drop them over current stacks) :D

The mouse pointer being lost and dropping stuff on the ground instead is annoying alright :D

Yeah...I think that is what he means.

I would suggest, however and have in other threads, that you guys add a "quick stack" option to containers too. We had this in Terraria and I can't even tell you how great this was. It was something I used every container I opened in my base to store building suplies and materials. This game has stacks just like that and it would be a tremendous help to have this on containers.

I agree that this should be added too. It works from container to inventory presently and should also work from inventory to container as well.

DRopping stuff is common for me too and extremely annoying.

I noticed this too. It's good for moving stuff you want stacked actually, although "quick stack" would be greatly appreciated as well. :P

I'd rather a "fill" button next to the "empty" one in containers that would transfer items in your inventory that are already in the locker and merge the stacks (like multi-selecting without having to select anything). A quick key/combo to transfer to a container could be more complicated, considering you can have multiple containers open, and with a "fill" button you'd only need to drag 20 items max when filling a cabinet for the first time.

Being able to have multi-containers open does present a bit of a snag. Not sure if I would want to be able to keep more than one open, or have the other one auto-close when I open another one. Thinking about my experience while playing, I almost might like it to close the other container because it speeds up the process of going container to container, and doesn't force us to manually close the other one, which many times is overlapping the new container. This makes it pointless to have both open at the same time imo. Do you find this too?

Again, not to beat a dead horse here...lol

Terraria does it this way and I really like how they do the containers in that game. If you right-click a new one the old one closes. Holding down SHIFT will transfer an item from the inventory if you click on it. Empty=Loot all just the same. Then they have waht you and I want as well with the "Quick stack".

I tend to open all my containers to have a better idea of what's where and stack everything better. It takes me a bit more to set up, but I prefer it that way.

Actually I've been thinking about it and yeah, multiple open lockers shouldn't be a problem with a "quick transfer" button. If an item is not in the lockers, just put it on the next empty space, on any locker. "Fill" button would be a bit quicker for preexisting stacks, but just marginally.

So yeah, scratch that: quick transfer for everyone!
Now that you mention about multiple containers being open I would really like to have an option to Pin container inventories so that when I re-open them they are in the same place I set them on my screen and not always overlapping the way they do now :D

I also like the idea of the auto close although it wouldn't be as much of an issue if you could Pin the open container windows :D

If the horse is dead then feel free to beat away, it won't feel it :D (joking).

Like ottomic, i open more than one container at once when i order all those ressources.
I like the 'fill' stack option that would move item from your inventory to already available stack.
I would like to see items that are "shift+RMB" moved to the last opened container, if multiple containers are open. And backwards from containers to inventory UNLESS, the condition of the next thing I'm going to mention is triggered (if its implemented).

It would be nice if empty slots along the bottom screen HUD (can't remember what its called), had a memory of the last item equipped, so e.g. filling all your empty buckets in slot 9 with tar would empty the slot, and then dumping said buckets without equipping anything else to slot 9 in the meantime would relocate your empty buckets back to slot 9. Another example is running out of ammo, then crafting more, would put it back in the slot where the ammo is, say bottom of slot 2, instead of your inventory.

As for the quick stack ideas, I think they are great as well, though we may get into trouble not paying attention and quick stacking items that we didn't notice were in there that we may need. Its only a minor flaw. I feel shift+RMB with the last open container plus the ctrl+LMB to select multiple would keep us more aware of what we are sending and/or stacking into the container.
