Water pump and Pipe hub
Is there a chance that something could be created to help a person install the pipe hub to the Water pump and other devices. Maybe something like the blue highlight turning green when the right line up is achieved before we actually create the pipe hub? I am having a devil of a time trying to get it installed because the blue highlight makes it hard to see if the hub is lined up. In once save game I managed to get it right but the rest of my save games I have not been able to. Getting a tad bit frustrated lol

Hi, the Pipe hub should not be installed directly on the Water pump, instead, there should always be a pipe between the hub and a machine. I'll try to make this easier.

You don't wanna see the spaghetti mess I made building up 4 pipe intersections, 3 water pumps and all the machines they supply. :)

I did it!!!. I got the water pump working. I figured out what was happening. First off I am legally blind so I was only aiming for the pipe. The problem is the pipe hub while in the building stage and still blue was going all over the place. I then realised it wasn't following my mouse like I expected it to. It was going every which way. Then I noticed it was following the ground height and not where I was trying to aim. All I did was terraform a little bit and I got it to stay closer to me and got it to attach to the hose on the water pump.

As a player especially this early on in the game one is expecting the item to follow the mouse. A player who is not familiar with how building mechanics work in games will not figure this out. Is it possible to have the item follow the mouse or "snap" to the correct position once the player manages to bring it close enough to the target position? Just a thought.

If you use the Drone (V by default) it makes it easier to align machines with other machines, I find it much nicer if you leave like 2 to 3 grid squares between machines/ containers/ pumps etc. etc. Also I use a block or 2 of Cement (Asphalt) so that I can place the pipe intersection on it ( it gives you more or less the same height as the water pump, again leave the intersection at least 2 grid squares from the pump then fit in a small section of pipe. Then you can run your spaghetti pipes from the other 3 connections (or add another intersection)

The hub sits nicely on a large column block, making it super easy to lineup with the grid, and the dome fits nicely on a 5 block octagonal shape. https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197974462029/screenshot/2468616436059774240/
