In all seriousness though, I'd love to hear what you envision your friends doing in the game world when you're not there.
It's not really economical or reasonable for the game company to own and maintain their own dedicated servers to host your small-group game worlds. Not unless this game becomes as big as World of Warcraft. Imagine 500 players on the waterworld map at once? That would be... probably unplayable, and ridiculous.
Player-device-hosted co-op is the standard for this class of game. I suggest you just accept that.
Now, that said, there is not much stopping you (in terms of how the game works, anyway) from leaving your own computer on and running 24 hours a day, maintaining your own hosted map online for whichever friends you wanted to play on it while you're sleeping, or at work, or at school. It can be done.
We are a group of 3-4 players that are currently looking for a new game to play together and this one looked very promising but is missing something crucial : dedicated server.
