2. Use corners and spikes to your advantage. Monsters go into spikes.
3. When leveling up the most important stats are attack speed, critical chance and bonus damage. You want to hit fast and hard, damage reduction and HP/MP regen are not so important (however when I can choose between +1 attack speed or +5 damage reduction, I pick the defensive upgrade) You should also focus on shop upgrades related to those stats.
4, For gold farming the "higher chance for treasure vault" shop upgrade is very good. For late levels the "critical hits destroy purple projectiles" is amazing.
5. At the beginning of every level go for bronze key, then silver key, then gold key, than clear the level 100% before going deeper. You need the EXP to survive on later floors. When the "scary creature" appears after some time, don't panic. It is slow and you can often dodge his attacks.
6. Destroy the nests that produce monsters as fast as posibble.
7. Don't open to many gates/cracked walls at once.
8. There is one level where the road to exit seem blocked - but there exist a teleporter that will help you find the way.
I wish the Grim Reaper could be removed in options.
Still, I would also like such an option, I appreciate customization. It could maybe come with some minor disadvantage, like Grim Reaper never shows up but you gain 10% gold less.
I'm just not fast.
About this - next month I'm planning to add an unlockable item shop to the game and one of the buyable items will allow you to stop or at least delay death from spawning, it'll just cost a bit of gold per run.
That is something that should be in a roguelike at the start, its not like you have have a huge following on game now. You should probably give credit to the original gauntlet, that's what you did here lol. Looks good though, too bad its a roguelike way too many theses days.
Stay faster than the enemies on your floor - Speed is an often overlooked stat that really helps when you have to run around a circle of enemies and of course in the treasure room getting more xp/treasure per run!.
For your main attack +ATT and +DEX are one in the same affect of your attack power, though you could argue factoring in things like Luck crits, Dex may be a little stronger of a stat. So for me I always look at all the options, Ill take a +3 DEX over a +3 ATT, ill also almost always take a +3,4 or 5 stat over +weapon level as they affect both primary and secondary attacks.
Dont pass up luck, crits can save you, especially when you get the upgrade in the shop to make them kill the purple projectiles.
Hitting an enemy OR spawner will 'stun' them from firing or producing more enemies for a couple seconds, use this to your advantage if you need to slow the enemy production down to penetrate a room thats respawning too quickly.
Consider buying the + mana/ + hp options before you splurge on the hp/mana regeneration stats, I think they are more handy personally.
Death is prettty slow, when he spawns, keep your cool, keep an eye on him but keep clearing for that all important treasure/xp until you get everything.
I think the hp/mp regeneration could use some buff. So far those are my least favourite stats. And yes +hp/+mp are pretty good. Now, with full regeneration when reaching new map, thanks to higher hp/mp I can be more aggresive and quicker during early floors :-)
