Not true, you can host a game and put it to "1 player"

You can play single player. I've played through the whole game single player, I believe it changes the parts that would require other players so that there's no requirement anymore. Like the sliding on chain part in hell isn't there, or that part where you have to hang someone down so they can hit buttons
