Can I play online with friends who don't own the game?

I'm thinking about buying this game to play online with friends. However, they don't own the game themselves. Will I still be able to invite them to play together online, or do they need to purchase the game as well?

Use remote play together and play as local game. But host needs to have decent internet/pc to host without lags and decent quality. You can buy, test and refund if it won't work. Or everyone will have to get copies.

in Remote Play Together mode the screen is divided into 4? Isn't it too small?

Is it possible to play Remote Play Together with someone + multiplayer with someone else?
