Hello Everyone, we're back again with our last update for December, it doesn't have a lot of new content as we had to split our time between creating new stuff and setting up localization, but it still brings some new cool stuff, including a brand new boss encounter, so check it out!

New Enemy: Lance-A-Lot

This enemy is having some issues with his sensors, so it can't really target the player directly with his spinning charge attack, but don't be fooled, even if its aim is a little off, it will still hurt you if you get on its path.

Shuffled Enemies Location

Aiming at bringing a greater variety for each expedition run and using our increasing number of unique enemies, we've changed around the possible pool of enemy spawns on each unique map, so now there is no map with the same exact enemies, there will still be some overlap, but no two maps have the exact same combination of enemies now. Along with that we've created new forms of the special waves that will spawn different enemies. Soo look forward for a little more variety when running your expeditions now.

New Boss: Man O' War

You thought only the player could spam projectiles to destroy everything on screen? This new boss will offer a new challenge that will require precise movements to dance around his endless barrages of shots to get away unscathed triumph over another big robot on this brand new Boss Encounter that can be encountered at the end of your runs.

Portuguese Localization

The game is now also available in Brazilian Portuguese, making the game accessible for more people. And with that we've now done most of the legwork required to localize the game for other languages (besides needing to translate every piece of text for the target languages), while we don't have an immediate plan to translate the game for more languages just yet, it's something we're open to explore on the future.

That's all for this update, with the end of year festivities and everything going on we won't be able to ship our next update on the two week schedule we've had going, so expect to hear more from us early next year, we don't have an exact date planned yet, but as soon as we have more cool stuff to deliver, we'll make it readily available!

Story Time!

Hello everyone, we're back on time with another update for Test Lab Inc., it brings some new cool stuff for you to play with, including a new ability, some new orbs and perks, and a new map with a new enemy type you can encounter. We also now have an story for the game, it should work properly even when loading your save file from the previous patch, but the story beats will progress a lot faster as you've already cleared some difficulty tiers.

New Feature: Dialogs

When entering the Hideout you'll sometimes be greeted by your trusty companionship AI, it will tell you about the current state of the world and help you get situated to the Test Lab. In future update we would like to expand this more, adding more characters for you to interact with and get you more grounded into the world, but for now you'll only have your AI to keep you less lonely.

New Ability: Firestorm

Let fire rain down from the skies and destroy enemies, this new ability will summon projectiles that deals area damage, allowing it to scale with both archetypes.

New Perk: Chill of Death

Ice damage abilities were in need of some love, this should help increasing your damage output, especially against bosses when using this type of damage.

New Perk: Elemental Bolsters

Some new generic Perks that increase your damage done by Fire, Ice and Lightning abilities respectively.

New Perk: Phase Runner

This will allow you to go even faster when you phase, allowing you to create even more distance from your enemies.

New Orb: Static

This orb will make your projectiles explode depending on how much it has traveled, scaling projectile speed and chain are great ways to make them go further.

New Map: Clock Tower

A brand new map, with a different set of enemies you can encounter including our brand new enemy.

New Enemy: Codename-Ball

This guy will coming rolling at you with full speed, then release a barrage of projectiles in an arc, hope you got quick feets to get out of the way.

That's all for this update, we're also working on localizing the game in PT-BR, but that didn't quite make it for the patch and should come with the next patch along with a brand new boss encounter, which we're once again aiming to ship in two weeks.

November Patch #1

It's been one week since our release, but we've been hard at work and had some things that didn't quite make it to our release version, but are now ready for shipping and coming into our very first patch. Here are the main changes:

New Model B4T Skins

We wanted to bring more variety to our enemies, and while the standard melee hit enemy that chases you is hard to replace, so we're giving them a fresh coat of paint, every map will now have a unique new skin for the melee enemies we like to call Model B4T, they will still function the exact same way, so you don't need to worry about those new enemies surprising you with new abilities just yet.

New Map: Furnace

This new map brings a quite larger area with a different layout for you to wander around while dealing with some of the enemies you're used to go against, and also our brand new enemy which is the...

New Enemy

As a thematically accurate, this new enemy will chase you with it's flamethrower when you're exploring the furnace, don't let it get too close, he's quite hot.

New Abilities

Smite - This brand new ability is both a projectile and an area ability, so it can scale with both properties, especially with increased number of projectiles and increased area, have fun smiting your foes with lightning strikes!
Blizzard - A really cool new ability that will be sure to leave your foes chilling behind when chasing after you.

New Orb: Dark Bargain

This new orb will allow your abilities to always critically strike, but that comes at a cost, you won't be able to increase the critical strike damage for that ability anymore.

New Orb Type: Conversion

A brand new concept introduced into the game, damage conversion, and it comes in the form of 3 new orbs which when equipped will change an ability damage type to Fire, Ice or Lightning, allowing you to get even more creative when building your character!

New Perks

Elemental Hit - Wanna deal different types of elemental damage without having to commit full abilities for that, this perk might be just what you're looking for, it has a chance to trigger a hit of a random element when you deal elemental damage with an ability.
Warmup - A new way to gain the Rampage buff, now synergizing with the Physical damage type which was lacking a bit of support when compared to elemental damage.
Burning Critical Hits - Another new thing added in this patch, Damage Over Time effects, this particular perk will allow you to apply a DoT effect on your critical strikes with Fire damage, but more DoT effects are sure to come in the future!

We are commited to updating Test Lab Inc. and adding new stuff on a regular basis, our goal is for every update to have new abilities, orbs and perks, so there's always new combinations for you to try in every patch, along with some bigger feature like a new map, new enemies, new bosses, new systems, and whatever we can come up with. We'd like to be able to release new updates every two weeks, but as we're a small team with a limited budget, it may not always be possible, and some features may be larger and require more development time delaying our schedule. Disappointment

Playing in the test lab seeing if I want to buy the game, I enjoy the premise even if there isnt a tutorial and it just throws you into it. HOWEVER upon reaching the lvl 2 boss and DEPLETING its health and collecting rewards their attack finished and killed me. even after the boss was beaten and I was collecting loot. instant quit... Rouge lite or not I shouldnt die after the boss' health bar is depleted and loot is on the ground....
