Can you go to:
C:\Users\{YourName}\AppData\Local\BeyondHanwell\Saved
Then look for a crash report? If you can get me the crash report, I might be able to help find a solution.
Sorry you've been having issues, I hope we can get this fixed.
This seems to be an issue on certain AMD cards, it's not actually something I can fix easily, because there isn't a way to definitively diagnose what's happening and it isn't being caused by anything the game itself is doing, I think something is going wrong between the RHI, usually DirectX 12 and the graphics driver and how they communicate. I've seen some success by running the game from the executable directly as Admin. See attached image.
If I find the exact cause and it's something I can fix, rest assured I will do so immediately.
Sorry again for the hassle.
I'm using windows 11 and have AMD Ryzen 7 7700 8-core processor, 32 gb memory, Gpu 1 is Nvidia Geforce RTX 4070 Ti super, Gpu 2 is AMD Radeon(tm) Graphics and I'll reintalle it and give it a try running as adim and I haven't had any iusses running anything else on my pc before, send a crash report when its done downloading. Thank you for responding.
got the crash Report I think and here it is [CrashReportClient]
bHideLogFilesOption=false
bIsAllowedToCloseWithoutSending=true
CrashConfigPurgeDays=2
Stall.RecordDump=false
Ensure.RecordDump=true
Also tried running as adim but said c++ is needed
there is and don't know how to send or show it as I don't have a program to open that type of file
I can take a closer look and see what is happening,sorry for the hassle, I hope we can get this fixed.
think I did it right, made it a link https://mab.to/t/OoYCuPX0PQx/us3
thank you for the help as well
Without running it through a debugger there isn't a way for me to figure out exactly what is causing this, but because it seems to be happening on launch for you I checked the code running from the main menu and I see that there was at least one object trying to access something that was null. Usually UE5 handles this but I've added validation checks to be sure. Basically just the computer asking if there is something there, if not, then skip. Leaving nulls unvalidated is bad form on my part anyway so thank you for bringing this to my attention!
I'll build and upload to beta branch this evening, and we can see if this works. If not, there's a chance it could be faulty hardware, but if you aren't getting this in any other games, especially Unreal Engine games then this is unlikely too.
It's a difficult one, I hope my changes resolve it.
thank you as well.
Sorry I missed the upload to beta branch today. I ran out of time, it'll be in beta branch tomorrow.
that's okay and I'll make sure to keep an eye out for when you do update it and let you know if I run into any more problems.
not sure if you updated it yet, but tried the beta branch and it still came up with fetal error, also I have other games that are made in unreal engine 5 and haven't had problems with those ones at all
Ah damn! Yeah beta was the updated one, I'll send you a DM so we can discuss this further.
OKay, I'll keep an eye out for the dm and going dm me on steam?
