15 hour Critque
I have played the game for 15 hours and this is my overall critique of the game playing with a 3080 Nvidia card, 12th Gen Intel 3.6GHz and Samsung 32" Odyssey Neo G8 4K UHD 240Hz.

The game graphics are very good, and the game runs smooth, but London is a huge map. The drone map, while a useful tool, could benefit from more detailed information and waypoints. For example, when trying to find a specific side quest location, the map often lacked clear indicators or landmarks. Comparing it to the more detailed maps in games like RE Village, I found myself wishing for a more robust navigation system. Additionally, the excessive number of redundant doors can sometimes break the immersion. While I understand that they might be necessary for level design or pacing, reducing their frequency could streamline the game play experience.

I spent a lot of my time just wandering around. I’m also taking into consideration that the game developer(s) have worked long and hard creating the game, but it is an early access game so now would be the right time for critiquing.

AND YES I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE GAME!!!

Thank you very much for the feedback!

I think the map needs a bit of love, I'm not too keen on the idea of waypoints which might discourage exploration, but I think it could definately be more detailed, I was thinking of adding districts, which are aready present, but not visible on the map, for example, EastForge is in High Gardens, I think it might be an idea to add district names over parts of the map to set you off in the right direction.

This way I could add breadcrumbs that hint towards which district a particular location is in.

It would also be helpful for some of the more substantial side content, to give another example, I could hint that the shotgun is in the police station in Westminster Central, then players would know to go look around Westminster Central which is a much smaller area than the whole of Westminster.

Thanks again!

I haven't played the game yet as I want to wait for the full release but I did buy it. :) Not sure how everything is layed out but like Hellgate: London, it used the underground stations for fast travel. If the game is broken into hubs you could easily get around and you'd also know which station to stop at to begin your search for items. Way stations in hubs could also sell information at them to help you find items or clues for other items you cannot find anywhere else. Just a thought. :)

I think its a great idea to have several subway station entry location on the London map. Once you enter one of the underground subway stations it has a wall map showing locations you can chose much like maps at an airport. You chose where you want to go next, get on the subway and it takes you to that location.

You can already fast travel from tube stations but right now it uses the drone map to select another station. Your line map idea is way better execution, thanks for the suggestion I really hope I can find time to do that.

The initial idea was to actually get on a train that would take you to the station you wanted to go to, but it turned out to be too cumbersome for fast travel, sometimes even taking longer than just walking. So I opted for the fast travel system but the chance for a random station breaking down and starting a set piece in the tunnels, I didn't finish this for EA, it's on my calendar to be added in late September.

The early access is much better than most completed games I've played.

In the game "Days Gone" there is an interesting map option where you can fast travel to some locations. I'm sure that is because the Game Map is so big.
