Might & Magic: Duel of Champions

Might & Magic: Duel of Champions

This game compared to Hearthstone:
Played both and this is what I think: This game lets you progress WAY faster than hearthstone. WAY faster. In Hearthstone though, the basic cards aren't terrible and several are used in tournament decks, not sure if that is the case in this game, or in this game only rare cards are viable, which would kind of balance out the f2p grind b/w them.

This game obviously has way more depth than Hearthstone simply on game mechanics, in Hearthstone the game mechanics are dumbed down so much, there is very little strategy happening in a fight, aggro decks are king because of how much synergy having several minions has, and being unable to remove them without a freaking Flamestrike once they buff each other. And to play aggro decks all you do spend all your mana every turn playing the minions in your hand, ZzzZZZzz

Hearthstone's UI, polish, animations, and sound effects are in another league of course. That game is by Blizzard, you should expect no less. DoC probably has the worst animations of all the virtual TCG's I've seen.

Have not tried this game, but Hearthstone is awesome. The top ranked players are top ranked for a reason in that game... (still in closed beta though).

Polish, Graphics, and all around Gameplay are better in hearthstone. Consider both are Free2Play it's difficult for another card game such as this to compete against big budget brands like Blizzard and Warcraft

This has a ton more cards than hearthstone, and it seems the grind to get the ones you want is less (although that may not be the case). I like the fact that you still get gold if you lose in this game, in hearthstone you get jackall except a tiny bit of exp and some guy saying wellplayed to you.

Being a better game gameplay wise helps. Hearthstone requires so little skill... just have a good deck and pray you get good draws, basically a game of dice.

The fact that this game has so many cards is actually against it. People who have account level 80+ still miss some cards that are considered best of the best, and above 1000 elo if you dont have one of the top decks, you might aswell stop trying because you will win only 1 out of 10 games.

They added the way to get single cards only a month ago, but imagine opening 500 card packs and still not getting some cards. or only getting one copy of a card that you need 4, and getting 5 copies of cards that are unique (that means you can only use 1 in your deck).

Nothing in this game changes, they have not added any new game mode since closed beta, they are not going to add more PvE missions because their AI is too limited (they have said it themselves, that they are not happy with AI and will not add any PvE missions untill they fix it).

It takes them FOREVER to fix bugs, they released a broken champion Ammar, then it took them more than a month to fix his ability.

They had a bug in one Event "week of austerity", it took them 3 months to fix it.

Do not expect balance changes other than nerfs. When you look at the screenshots where they provide some number data from their game, you will see a champion called Kieran, who has over 60% win rate. This win rate is from 5 months ago, then he got nerfed and NOBODY played him since that time, this is why his win rate is so high, ATM you will get murdered if you play him.

There are only few top decks, and if you dont have one of them, do not expect to win alot above 1000 elo.

Anyone have a hearthstone beta key?

And Hearthstone has Arena with sealed play. One major flaw with DoC is that it doesnt have any sealed play.

i prefer DoC... hearthstone is cute, but i dont like his gameplay very much.

Lol Hearthstone has been aching for a patch for about a month+ now with some ridiculously bad metagame dominating it all. Though this is partly explained by Blizzcon. That's what worries me about this game, is it supported by devs at all or are there like 2 people assigned to it to make sure it doesn't explode.

B/c if that's the case, the upcoming Hex game seems to have devs that actually care about the game.

The biggest difference is that Hearthstone is still in the closed beta and DOC not

This game is actually quite fun to play. It has it's ups and downs, but it's a good addicting game to play.
You can actually get all the cards, you just have to play in order to get the gold/seals, to open packs/boxes and get cards or wildcards, that can later be used to buy more cards.
And yes, there ar edecks that work with just common/uncommon cards :) though I don't find it that hard to get the rares, since you now have the wildcard system.
The only downside comes with the patches. Since this game also is available on ipad. It takes a little bit more time to get patches and fixes done.

But imo, it's a game worth trying and I bet whoever plays it will have fun (except that one mission. That one was so hard at first!!)
Also, the community is awesome :D people are always happy to be of any help.

TBH I have been waiting for Hearthstone for ages, I have not played a one of these game types ever and so thought I would take the plunge with this, am loving it and about to buy some decks. Hearthstone has probably missed the boat for me, am not playing both as I can't afford it (F2P is not for me, I buy stuff). Once I have spent a bit of money here am not leaving for HS.

Cant immagine you can talk about better gameplay in heartstone - its as siple as you can get it. And compare to this - heartstone limit any effect of skill compare to luck as your hand makes all - here you need actualy think more what you going to do =p

On another hand - heartstone seems more f2p friendly then this one - you can actualy do something with what you get from start and when you lvl your hero up (as most of that cards are core of every deck). So for relax or rage over cards dont comming heartstone - for make your brain work this one =P

I would love to try Hearthstone if someone has a free beta key......

I got bored of Hearthstone already, as it just isn't very deep. The limited number of cards means there's a severely limited number of strategies you'll see. Everybody does the same thing.
