redownloaded mxgp on new pc.. wont open?
im a bit of a pc gaming noob.. mostly play Mx sim on pc, but i bought a new gaming rig and am trying to reinstall MXGP for my son.. all of my other steam games work great, ultra quality with no FPS dips at all... Even runs Mxs at 125 fps on high res tracks...

but for some reason, i cant even open MXGP.. ive downloaded and installed the game through steam, and when i hit PLAY, it says syncing, and then literally nothing happens and it will not open the game..

my son really likes to play MXGP while we are watching it, and with the race on tomorrow im trying to get the game to work for him by tomorrow.. any help would be appreciated!

Hello Bondsmx. Quick question, did you have anything installing or downloading in the background during your installation? Reason I ask, when I did a reinstallation I had the same problem because windows update was running in the background for me. I'm assuming since its a new system you updated all your drivers for windows and graphics card? One thing you could try is right click on MXGP and go to "properties" click on "Local Files" and then click "Verify Integrity of Game Cache" This will check to see if you have any or corrupt file and will fix automatically. Hope this solves your issue.

Just thought of something else. If on your last PC did you mod any of the game files? If so that could be one of the problems. If you did mod, steam saves your game to the steam cloud and if you do not have that same mod file on your new pc then your game won't start up. If that is the case go into steam settings and click "cloud" and uncheck the box for cloud and try reinstalling the game. But a bit of warning this will make you start your game progress over. Just thought I would let you know incase you did mod. :)

okay, so i might have figured something out.. i went and verified the game cache like you said... and while i was in there, i went to look at the game files.. so i clicked on the game, to try and start it from there.. and i got an error message.. that read, "the program cant start because VCOMP100.DLL is missing"

Ok figures thats usually the missing file. So to fix that here is a quote from another guy with a link to fix the VCOMP100.DLL file.

I eventually just used this program - http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?vcomp100 Free download, ran it once and then uninstalled.

There's probably better ways of doing it but I couldn't get the others to work and my PC knowledge doesn't go further tbh.

Let me know if this help you. Good luck!

vcomp100.dll is part of Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Package, either install the latest version of it or if that does not work find a copy of the vcomp file from the internet and put it in the MXGP game folder.

No probs mate, i`m surprised this wasn`t in the first and only patch they did as this seem`s to be a prob for a lot of people...so much for beta testing!
