Game barely playable

Every time i launch the game it gets stuck for like a minute on a "please wait.." screen.
Then whenever i go back to the main menu after a race the game just gets stuck loading forever.
Any solution for that? Or the game at this point is just complete garbage?

can you play wrc 4 with directx10 in 2021?

it was stuck forever.
If i remember correctly what was causing that was the v-sync. I believe turning it off (or on?) fixed the issue.

vsync doesn't fix loading issues. these problems are all over the game

Once the game starts it plays really well, after fixing framerate issues from a guide.
However, loading the game is a case of "switch it on and go to the kitchen to make a cup of tea". When ending the game it refuses to stop properly and I need to fully exit Steam. These are problems that I can cope with as the driving is so good. However, I would prefer it if it could be fixed - a bit hopeful for such an old game.
