Can't read the dialogue?

Recently bought the game - any time I get to a part with dialogue between the characters (where they get them up close to the screen with the bottom portion with dialogue), I can't read it. If I press space/enter/left click, it skips to another portion of dialogue with the characters giving random expressions. I don't know what's being talked about.

Thankfully, they're smart enough to give you mentions in the game that say "Hey! Go here and do this!" But I want to read what these characters have to say. is there any way to not skip the dialogue here? I've tried every button on my keyboard, and the options screen doesn't help either.

It's a graphic display problem. I had the same issue due to using a CRT monitor with different resolutions between desktop and game.

Try the following:

set your desktop resolution to whatever is the maximum value supported by your monitor
start the game
enter the options screen
set the resolution at which you want to play
exit the game
set your desktop resolution back to its original value
restart the game

The issue should be permanently fixed.
