After months of reading posts about how uplay is evil and all that stuff, I still can't understand what's the real problem with it, aside personal preference.
If you think you may like the game, you most probably will (the game IS actually very good and worth even full price, for me) just ignore all that ♥♥♥♥ about uplay. Buy it, play it, love it.
After the atrocious experience with BLOOD DRAGON (where I was only allowed to access my game IF their fickle servers were up and running) I decided that I will never again even consider purchasing a game with double layer of online DRM. I never looked back.
If STEAM is not enough for them to accept that I have paid for their game, I will not jump through hoops for them to promote their own digital distribution platform. I take my business elseware and let them survive without my money.
I thought Gabe Newell was shrewder and would had caught up to them by now.
I personally have over 100 hours on uplay games at this point and have never had anything that effected my playing.
Steam games should just use Steam DRM, otherwise there's way too many potential (and actual) problems.
Aside from the annoyance of having to register and having to install an inferior Steam v2.0 on my PC, it didn't cause any trouble for me. I recommend you to buy Child of Light, it's worth it and Uplay isn't as bad as the negative reviews make it to be.
The demo required me to create that Uplay account, i did it, but never logins.
it keeps saying that there is a problem with my internet connection,
but my internet is perfectly working as always, as any other game, browser or program like steam that uses internet is perfectly working.
I've also tried to reset the router, the computer, disabled all firewalls, antivirus and possible windows defenses enabled... nothing.
Uplay seems simply broken.
