Uplay that bad?
Game has really peaked my interest, the music, the art, the gameplay, its all really appealing to me. And i almost bought it, however i looked at the negattive reviews and many say ts a great game, just uplay ruins it by deleting saves and or wont let them play. Is it really that bad? Is the worth getting at that point?

There's nothing wrong with Uplay. I played through more than 10 Uplay games and never had a single problem.

Personally never had a single problem, aside that time when uplay overlay would crash the game, but they fixed it. And who needs that overlay anyway, lol.
After months of reading posts about how uplay is evil and all that stuff, I still can't understand what's the real problem with it, aside personal preference.
If you think you may like the game, you most probably will (the game IS actually very good and worth even full price, for me) just ignore all that ♥♥♥♥ about uplay. Buy it, play it, love it.

Imagine the worse way to ruin any gaming experience. Now multiply that by the number of digits in pi. You now have a ballpack figure of how bad UbiCrap is.

After the atrocious experience with BLOOD DRAGON (where I was only allowed to access my game IF their fickle servers were up and running) I decided that I will never again even consider purchasing a game with double layer of online DRM. I never looked back.

If STEAM is not enough for them to accept that I have paid for their game, I will not jump through hoops for them to promote their own digital distribution platform. I take my business elseware and let them survive without my money.

I thought Gabe Newell was shrewder and would had caught up to them by now.

Some people seem to have problems with UPlay. As all things internet connection related it definitely can be an issue. However for some the hate comes purely from DRM.
I personally have over 100 hours on uplay games at this point and have never had anything that effected my playing.

Of course Uplay is bad. They're trying to have their cake and eat it too, at your expense. If they want to make the game a Uplay exclusive that's fine (annoying, but fine). Instead, they sell the game on Steam, so you launch it with Steam, and then it still launches Uplay to actually play the game. Oh, and you can't play if your network is down. If you lose your uplay password, or you install the games too many times or whatnot, you might still own it on steam but be unable to install and/or play it.
Steam games should just use Steam DRM, otherwise there's way too many potential (and actual) problems.

Never actually experienced UPlay because, after my perfect score with GFWL (every single game with that gave me huge headaches related with the double DRM), I vowed to never again purchase anything with double DRM for as long as I live. If the game is on Steam and has any kind of DRM apart from Steam itself I simply won't purchase it.

It's an annoying pain that may or may not give issues.

I just spend the last 2 hours trying to get this game to run. Apparently I wasted my money and my evening.

I have a few Ubisoft games on my wishlist that I really want to play, but I won't purchase them until they remove the Uplay requirement.

Uplay has been updated which allows you to play games in offline mode (at least for Child of Light). If you do play in online mode, Uplay will reward you with points upon completing achievements which you can trade in for some in-game perks.

Aside from the annoyance of having to register and having to install an inferior Steam v2.0 on my PC, it didn't cause any trouble for me. I recommend you to buy Child of Light, it's worth it and Uplay isn't as bad as the negative reviews make it to be.

I'm very interested in this game, and I would have already bought it, but i saw there was a demo, so I decided to try the demo first, for safety, i always heared bad things about Ubisoft.
The demo required me to create that Uplay account, i did it, but never logins.
it keeps saying that there is a problem with my internet connection,
but my internet is perfectly working as always, as any other game, browser or program like steam that uses internet is perfectly working.
I've also tried to reset the router, the computer, disabled all firewalls, antivirus and possible windows defenses enabled... nothing.
Uplay seems simply broken.

But I can login with no problems right now... it must be something on your end, but who knows... did you try disabling your router's firewall too?
