In fact the Diamond Oculi's are the only way to change the amount of experience a character gets, as everyone in the party gets the experience regardless if used.
I can't really supply a picture without spoiling things unfortunately.
But saying that it wouldn't surprise me if there was a mechanic to make lower level characters level faster, as otherwise, if you were a high level and picked up another character in the story it would be hard to try to use them in a party.
She requires the same exp per level as everyone else as far as I can tell. My characters are all level 45 and 46, and are gaining exp together. She's never been underlevelled. I have never used Diamonds for faster EXP gains.
At the end of my NG+ Aurora is 88, with the other characters being between 86-87, however take into account the better diamond oculi and the frozen levels of NG+ and you'll realise that Aurora does level slower than certain characters.
Rubella, Gen and Oengus at 87, Finn, Robert and Tristis at 86
I cannot say for sure about the first playthrough as I've only noticed this huge level jump in Norah in NG+ and took notice of it since then
Norah does level up much quicker in a normal game as well.
What do you mean by Frozen levels?
I just started playing but, new party members seem to be a higher level than Aurora. I played up to Norah, didn't really grind much and every character seemed to be about two levels higher. The next time I didn't avoid battles at all cost like before basically, Rubella and Finn were still higher. Maybe as much but, it just irks me my main character doesn't seem to be as efficient as the others. How much did you guys battle before picking up party members? Was this purposeful? Is my idea of sufficient level grinding not that of normal rpg gamers, I don't play them often.
I played on hard and never had to grind. But when I saw an enemy for the first time, I didn't avoid them. I feel like people who complain about grinding are either bad/not using good strats or casuals who think you can just avoid monsters all the time in an RPG and not become underleveled.
Cause the come in later, amirite?
