Game Crashing on startup

Hi everyone, I bought the game today, installed correctly along with Uplay, but as soon as I launch it, it crash saying that "Child of light has stopped working" . I have a very powerful pc with Windows 8 so for sure I met all the game requirements...what could it be? I also just found out there is no refund policy and it's quite annoying :(

I have a Radeon card. I tried putting in an Nvidia card and that didn't seem to do the trick.

I'm running on a server class motherboard/cpu. I wonder if that has something to do with it?

Here only that option made this work.
In other games problems are other programs like Raptr, Playfire, Dxtory, Comodo Firewall etc.
I close everything and usually works.

same problem. i bought this game pre-order and i played it...then i stoped.. then i reinstall windows...and new video-card. now i have win 7-64. 8gb ram gtx 670 2gb. i5 2310

I can confirm on my end that this is a uplay issue, especially with the downloadable content.

Same here, works fine offline, crashes in the online mode. And no solution since april 2014? Wow... So, no achievements and no rewards for me? Thank you, Ubisoft!

Game also crashes for me, both in settings and when creating a new game. Turning off online mode in the UPlay client seems to fix the issue.

No fix since April seems very troublesome, should have checked all this before buying the product some 1h ago - as it says something about business ethics and moral obligations to ones customers.

Perhaps this information will useful. The problem was solved by non-trivial way. Right now connected to the internet through a router (earlier was connected directly via L2TP). When you connect to the Internet through a router the problem is magically disappearing.

I paid for uplay extras light the dark skin which i cant use because your software sucks FIX IT NOOBS! cant be that difficult to make me be able to play without going offline. totally pathetic
