Local co-op
Would we have full control of 2 characters on screen or only during battles?

Yeah it's actually a pointless coop lol Your bud could be better just watching you play x)

Nope, only Igniculus (firefly) for P2. Characters are controlled by P1.

Sounds good to me. Might be a good option for my young kids.

I'd like to know too...

I found the answer here[www.co-optimus.com]:

"The second player controls her following ball of light, Igniculus, who supports her outside of combat by revealing hidden areas and interacting with objects, as well as inside combat with healing powers and stun effects."

Doesn't sound so bad for playing with someone with limited gaming skills...

Why would you want to play a game with anyone that has that low of a level of gaming skill? I only like to play videogames with people that have at least a slight amount of skill in videogames. If a friend of mine sucks extremely badly at videogames then i would just do something else with them. They would probably be bored to death playing as a useless ball of light anyways.

A child would be one example. My girlfriend would be another.

If your child or girlfriend sucks so badly at videogames that they can't play as anything other than a useless floating light (i doubt they are really THAT bad), then why not do something else with them? Honestly, they would get basicly the same experience by just watching you play a game.

According to co-optimus.com it's not that useless. Quote: "revealing hidden areas and interacting with objects, as well as inside combat with healing powers and stun effects."

Those hidden areas and objects that you can interact with, can most likely be found and used by your own character as well. The healing powers/stun effects are probably fairly minor and i seriously doubt that they require you to do much at all to activate them.
I hope i'm wrong, but i don't really care that much, since this is more of a single player game anyways. The co-op mode is a bit of a lie if i'm right though.

Firefly is actually pretty important during a fight in my opinion, slowing(and stop slowing) down the enemy at the right time can help you always hit the enemy without giving it the chance to fight back. So... I think this co-op is not a bad idea, so player 2 could more focus on controlling firefly while you do the character's command. (unless the fighting speed is set to slow) I like it because it makes the game not only just other's round-and-round game, what u do is more than just ordering the command but also add some intense in the game to think more strategies about what is the right time to use firefly's ability. (BTW, I am playing hard-mode, feel like each enemy could kill me easily :(

It's a really weird split: I wouldn't bill it as a cooperative game, since it's not difficult to handle both roles yourself with mouse and keyboard (Maybe a bit trickier on a controller, but not much?) but Igniculus (the firefly) is really relevant both inside and outside of battles. During a fight he helps control pacing and makes taking down & interrupting opponents much easier, and outside of a fight he's how you regain health, mana, and grab quite a few pick-ups.

That said, player one will absolutely control the bulk of the fights, and where you're going in the overworld / plot. So it won't work if you want equal coop: the gameplay is very asymmetrical. Still, it's a relevant job, just one that a single player could probably do on their own.
