Rebirth

Am I missing something with the rebirth system? I have done a couple rebirths and i just now reached level 100. I can do rebirth now and I will only get 2 skill points, which seems low but maybe thats correct?

It's a grind for the skill points. One need to do several rebirths to afford to convert the ether to skill points if you can't get far enough to get a high number of ether when you rebirth.

Very early on I did the same. I didn't notice at first that there are two 'currencies' in the game. I had spent most early Ether on Skill Points.

There is 'Ether' (purple blob thing), and 'Skill Points' (book looking thing) (which cost Ether). The latest patch lets you sell back Skill Points for less Ether than you paid, but at least you can get it back if you've made a mistake.

You can reset the Ether skill tree for just 10 Ether.

Whatever you spent your Skill Points on so far, don't buy more Skill Points yet, but pump some Ether into those categories.

I dont fully understand what you mean. You use ether to buy skillpoints, do they have any other use other then getting skill points? What do you mean pump ether into those categories?

I can't run up the game right now but you see on the tab where you buy Skill Points, there's a purple circle in the middle of that page which is the skill tree. (which I think from memory looks like a spider or wheel spoke design in the middle)
You /activate/ a skill on that tree using Skill Points and you the level up those skills using the raw Ether. (Merely owning a skill book does nothing)
Note another thing I missed. 5 of the 6 categories are related directly to tower types, but one at the top/middle is generic. Make sure you look at that before dumping all your early Skill Points and Ether into Archer (again, as I did!)

The spoke thing in the middle right, opens up the view on the left which is the skill tree. Each node needs to be activate with a Skill Point before you can dump Ether into it, so choose carefully as you already noticed, Skill Points get expensive quickly.

Oh wow I feel dumb. I totally did not even catch this. I was feeling so bummed out that everything cost skill points to upgrade. I didn't realize you unlock with skill point and upgrade it further with raw ether. Wow.. I can actually upgrade things now! Thanks

OMFG, I thought I had to get more of those damned skill points to upgrade the levels, I didn't notice it was the raw ether. That needs to be freakin explained in that tutorial message on the bottom... I'm so angry about how much time I wasted, LOL. Thanks guys!

To give some perspective, my last run, I'd ground to level 197, and was a few nodes away from unlocking all of the lightening and star sections of the skill tree, wondering how in the hell I was going to get the skill points to do ANY of the upgrades...
