I have a theory

I honestly have a theory about the game, but it's a long one. Everyone knows the original backrooms, which I think is where this story starts. I think Benny IS human. He fell into the backrooms, I can't assume the age, but I say 14-16, and was scared and alone. He found his way into Level 18, which you enter rarely by dreaming, enter via a door near a teddy bear in level 17, or by curling up into a ball and crying in level 57. I suspect he found his way into level 18 via level 57's way. Level 18 is Nostalgic Memories, that changes itself for the person. Usually into childhood bedrooms, pre-schools, etc. I know this is a stretch, BUT HEAR ME OUT, Benny's parents are dead. They died when he was 5, and all he had left from them was a stuffed "animal" (the plush being a plush of the Benny we know in the game) and the memory that played for Benny, was his parents giving him that homemade (slightly scuffed) plush. Except, Benny received the plush in the backrooms. When he clipped into the backrooms, he wasn't holding that plush. The memory truly gave him a physical 1-1 copy. Benny obsessed over this plush, ultimately becoming it. The Benny we know is the form he's taken on after obsessing over the plush and losing sanity. The more destroyed Benny's model gets through the levels, the more insane he's becoming, which is getting him closer to mutation between him and a Wretch. The video in the trailer of Benny in the cage when the woman asks who he is, is them trying to restore his sanity, as it's completely new and dangerous that lost sanity and obsession could turn humans into monsters. They teach him his name, which is why he says "Benny". She's testing him by saying "Do you have a name". She knows his name, but they have to make sure. I'm not done. Her asking his name made him remember, and he didn't like that. So, that's why, through rage and insanity, he broke free from the facility containing him, and is now roaming the backrooms, being the Benny we now know.

Edit: Upon watching the new Socks Studios video on Benny's backrooms, I have updated my original theory slightly. Benny was one of the first people in the backrooms, as in the new video they state that the first scientists to find the backrooms also found benny, which meant he was there before. So, this makes him losing sanity so much more realistic, as he could've been the first or one of the first to no-clip. So, instead of knowing benny was human beforehand, the scientists found a way to capture benny, and put them in their new facility. They did DNA tests and found the human blood, which is how they figured out he was human. The roof monster is revealed to be a creation from a scientist. The roof monster looks similar to that of a Wretch, so they most likely used benny's DNA for other monster projects. The vent monster is plushie, like benny, so they must've found a way to extract the plush part of benny. Also, the tentacles ALSO look similar to a Wretches skin. Most of what I said in my original theory I still believe, but what I edit here is part of my current theory. The reason benny didn't break out of the facility earlier is because it was soon after he transformed, so he didn't have full control. The scientists attempted to reverse what happened to benny. Now, benny obviously still had some human DNA, and most likely SOME memories, which is how he knows his name "Benny". The phone was most likely created by the scientists as there was no cell reception in the backrooms (duh) and all the phones are connected in some way. I wouldn't be surprised if a character who was scientists was introduced, and he communicated through your phone via the message feature. This is my updated theory. Can't wait for the game, already have it wish listed!
