Killing Sparrow
i seem to be stuck at the part where you have to meet Sparrow. Any ways to kill her without any trouble? (I'm a melee fighter.)

it the question still need an answer~

you can run past beetles to her house, talk to her to get attacked then run away outside so she'll be chasing you together with beetles. Move to the safe area and watch them kill each other. She can take off 2-3 beetles by herself while suffering health loss, just wait till she's low on health, buff yourself and finish her off.

I killed her without too much trouble with my melee character. Maybe it is just a question of level. If you can handle the beatles, then you should be OK with her I think. You probably know not to fight while encumbered (your to-hit drops quite a bit), and spells like Bless, Haste, and Ogre Strength are always good to have...and the heal spell too...Divination spells help a lot with a melee character--I have found even melee types need magic...

All characters would need magic at some point. Bless for melee fighter on low levels is what will make you unstoppable. I used to go with hybrids (some magic spells, good armor, 1 weapon - cleaving as it can help with barrels as well) and I had very little trouble to progress. Going as ranger is very tough, pure mage lacks mana and have to rest often. Hybrids are most balanced and easy to play.

For anyone having trouble with this lady here are some good tips. However, pure mage is ez mode for any challenge. This person doesn't know what the hell they are talking about with regards to pure mage builds.

yeah, right. what you gonna do with your pure magic build on low levels? you won't kill even a rat, not to mention something bigger like half dozen of critters and strong enemy. But you're welcome to elaborate how exactly are you going to achieve this with magic while you won't be able to rest while killing half of the critters in that area.

What are you talking about. You can easily kill mostly everything with fire dart/fleshboil even in the late game. Yes its more effective to go to sunder flesh/fireball and then Mystic Hammer/Ice Lance or something you find or buy.

But I also finished the game with only fire dart and nothing else.

I often play pure magic because it is imho easier than pure melee because you get access to portal spell which makes the game so much better.

Yes I played as a pure melee fighter as well and it works too. Also this game can be finished as pure Alchemist / Renger / Weaponless and so on.

You just dont know how to do it and assume its impossible but it is.

right, had this game for over a decade (long before it went to steam) and replayed it on hardest difficulty and still have no idea how it works. going with petty fire dart against ranged enemy who has over 100 XP and huge %% to hit (especially if you're mage because you're not training agility, huh?) is the worst suggestion ever. are you trolling or what? to kill this NPC you'll have to go with tier 3 spells and properly buffed because on low levels she'll kill you in 2 hits while you'll barely make a dent in her HP with magic (she has 20% resist to elemental in case you had no idea)

Well apparently a decade wasnt enough. You still dont know what you are talking about. All your statements in this thread are simply wrong:

If you had played this game a lot then you would not state it is impossible to play as a pure mage or pure melee. I played this game on hardest difficulty as pure mage/melee/alchemist/weaponless and its not a problem. It just takes a long time.

So I mean you can tell what you want you are just wrong. Also you apparently have no idea how to get mana quickly by just increasing your perception and nothing else.

oh really? so why then you say you CAN kill Sparrow any time? she's clearly end game enemy for pure mage because you'll need finished build with good stats and spells to take her down easily.
you can, however, kill her with hybrid build early if you go with good tohit and bless/shields, good health pool and few healing pots.

What? You stated its impossible to play the game as pure mage/pure melee. And just told you it is possible. So your statement was just wrong.

That is what this discussion is about. And that were my posts.

Besides that you dont have to kill Sparrow at all in order to finish the game.

As pure melee fighter you just have to increase your stats correctly.

Here you wrote all characters need magic and that is just wrong. You obviously dont even know what you have written? Are you drunk or do you take drugs?

Or this one where oyu stated you cant play pure magician.

These 2 statements show you have no idea about how to play a pure mage or a pure melee fighter. And you dont like it that I exposed that.

do you have negative level of comprehension or what's the reason you quote my text and can't see what's written? the only thing you exposed is your obsessive nature and inability to read.
muting and banning because I have no time for your kind.
