Some people also report that general audio balance is off, some sounds are heard almost near you, when the source is far away. It's indeed the case, some robot ambient sounds are very loud. Some tell that all dialogue audio sounds compressed, but I can't confirm that, it sounds like in the original. Can't comment on its loudness though. Maybe these reports are old and it was fixed since then.
Despite all those issues remaster is an upgrade over the original for the most part. It could have recieved better treatment and still requires some polishing, like fixing awful lipsync and wonky dialogue animations, which are advertised as an upgrade and were supposedly reworked.
There're some minor issues with meshes and materials, which you can encounter as well, but that's beyond the scope of the answer, so I won't delve into that.
all files/drivers are properly updated, no mods before someone say something about it.
If you play for a very long time, like 7-8 hours, all music may just cut off (even in the menu screens), plus some of Aloy's ambient voice lines become inaudible. Maybe some other characters, but I wasn't able to test or confirm that. You can see the subs, but not hear the audio. Cinematic conversations seem ok, but this silence can only be fixed by a complete game restart, reloading or just exiting to main menu is not enough. Happened to me twice, always when I played overnight, so it's likely 6 hours session at least. Clearly audio engine that Nixxes used in the remaster needs more work.
Just in case someone is searching for the same thing happening to them (here or in google, etc), so here you are, you're not high, tripping or mistaken lol, it all can happen and it's the game at fault, not your hardware or os. I've already tried many basic things that can fix the audio, but nothing worked or changed anything, so I assumed it's on the devs to fix.
In case you're wondering, I have a dedicated sound card, Xonar Essense STX.
♥♥♥♥ it. I just buy it for 8€ it's okay. I wil see for myself.
If you have the audio issues be sure to come back and comment about it. I think most people just dealt with the issue in the end. The silent majority.
This is the issue that still persists though for clarity and this was 4 months ago. You can see it happen right after the 56:00 and after the 57:25 mark.

Wow, I wouldn't ever accept that, talking about game breaking immersion
LoL, thank you for beta testing.
