Sound bug
I don't know if it's the latest update, but I have a lot of sound bugs, the background music doesn't work well, cuts out or changes, everything concerning the sound of the music or even some dialogues and also the combat music is completely broken... even on the normal version of the game, I had never had that...

I haven't noticed any of this so far. But: I have the sound output from the GPU (7900 xtx) directly to a 5.1 amplifier.

Only played the game briefly today, but I noticed I think only in cut-scenes that there is a crackling sound in the background?

Also the lip syncing is slightly off too.

I haven't noticed the background crackling sound during cutscenes (yet?), but I did the slight lip-syncing issue since the release.

Honestly, I hope they bring a deep sound overhaul at some point. The remaster's sound implementation is still messed up compared to the visual department. The original HZD on PC still has a superior sound implementation to the remastered game.

Thanks for your reply!

Ironically, I'm currently using a 5.1 setup, used to be 7.1 but I removed my rear speakers. It's funny that people will have the same or similar setups but wont have the issues that other people will get. :angrboda_thinking:

MUSIC CHANGES...
In the latest version, when i left Mother's Heart near the game beginning I remember the music changing suddenly, and awkwardly. And it happened at some other point in time. I think I also remember the lip syncing being slightly off at times too.

So there ARE definitely issues, but it's mostly been a non-issue for me.

I don't remember any COMBAT sound issues but I only got a couple hours in.

Unfortunately I haven't found any videos online (so far) that show my issue. In my case, the crackly sound wasn't very loud, but certainly noticeable. Best way to subscribe it is that it sounded like static.

Start that and press the button in it to start monitoring. Then launch the game. When you get crackling see if LatencyMon detects an issue. If it does, that MAY suggest it's not the game.

I haven't noticed any audio crackling. But I also would have thought you'd get crackling in other games, so I would tend to think it's the game itself and something about your system setup. But it's complicated.

Being RANDOM really makes it hard to troubleshoot, but that's why I linked you to LatencyMon. You can read up on the reason why.

I'll have a look into it thanks. But to fair I have never had an issue like this once with any of the hundreds of other games I own.

Maybe it just bugged out the one time and if I play again it will be fine, who knows? That's sadly the problem with games, thousands of people could play a game and will able to play it without any issues. Then the odd couple of people will play it and the game will just not work properly.

Nixxes has implemented multiple sound fixes in each game's updates and patches, demonstrating that the sound department has consistently struggled. Furthermore, the ongoing reports of sound issues, even after these patches, highlight that this technical aspect of the remaster remains unresolved. While most users are well-informed about graphics performance, they tend to be less knowledgeable about sound performance and its technical foundations.

I have similar issues, ambient music sometimes triggers and stops randomly, sometimes when a cutscene starts and sometimes during stealth or combat. I to did not have this problem in the Original, or any other game for that matter. I first noticed it during a benchmark
Seeing this discussion continuing is both a relief, knowing I'm not alone. But also infuriating because it means it's something that has not been fixed yet.

And, sadly, it won't likely ever be fixed. Post-launch support seems to have ended.

Who knows, the original recieved patches for almost two years. The initial release of the original was in a very bad shape. I wouldn't call it a mess, especially after other noteworthy 'ports' which were abandoned on the release. HZD actually was fixed and improved by Nixxes, so now it's a very solid port. Remastered no doubt was a quick cash grab, knowing who now runs the show for Sony (spoiler: Hermen Hulst, ex-Guerrilla managing director and co-founder). It's an attempt to make Horizon a token series, like Crash Bandicoot and other iconic series from the past generations. Lego game, vr game, different collaborations featuring Aloy speak for themselves.
So no wonder it never recieved that good support, most likely the patching team is already disbanded and were moved for other projects.

Do you have a source for this because the last update was a month ago and so far updates seem to be happening on a almost monthly basis.
