OK I solved this one myself, the jump won't work so well with keyboard and mouse it seems so a controller fixed this part of the game for me then back to keyboard and mouse

Sometimes you may have to press up, side and jump together (W A space).
And you may need a gaming keyboard. Office keyboards can fail even on shift-W-space.
Gaming keyboards recognize way more simultaneous keys.

I am using a mechanical keyboard for gaming...

Gaming branded products are just regular products with Gaming on the front, It's all marketing

This is a half truth. The keyboards your talking about are indeed common in offices, because they are cheap membrane units and are OEM from whoever built the office computer. Dell, HP, Lenovo, etc.

There are even some bad keyboards with mechanical switches and with "gamer" labels. One of the many reasons I never purchase Asus is that everything is labeled ROG gaming, even the poor quality e-waste.

Being a mechanical keyboard doesn't actually mean all that much for this, its the N-key rollover that is the defining attribute. Gaming keyboards are often designed to avoid common key combos causing conflicts while keyboards designed for office use are not. So it isn't always just a case of the "gamer tax"

I'm using a mechanical keyboard & I can navigate just fine in the game, climbing in diagonals & such with multiple key presses at the same time, just thought I'd clarify, it'd technically be a programming feature your keyboard comes with that would be restricting your movements, not that it's just "mechanical" being the issue
