Why is the update 80 gigs?

The patch 1.2 is about 100MB to download. It just needs to reorganize the files to apply it, from what I understood.

it's not 80gb, patch is 100.4mb, it just patches 80gb of data

download -> unpack -> applying changes -> repack

I updated just now and Steam shows a 1.1 GB download after which it patched 80 GB of data. Either way, no big difference, the patch is significantly smaller than 80 GB. :)

The patch was small, but it had to write a lot to your hard drive. The download is not 80 gigabytes, but 80 gigabytes gets rewritten to your disk.

Yeah I just noticed that..... I guess it's just weird how it installs... I think the patch was only around 100 megs
