It's an improvement to have a homogenized and standardized graphic quality close to that of West, while waiting for the third episode. Same story, same gameplay, few improvements like double tap for rolling.

A MANDATORY PSN Account requirement it's what it has. Other than that, not much..

before you get it, it also has the horrendous hardware requirement of HFW, which also comes with a DIrectStorage memory leak which incrementally slows down your game as you play :-)
They apparently also ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up the mocap of characters like Sylens and Nil in the remaster, which was at least okay in the original.

There's nothing horrible about the system requirements for the remaster, it's a modern graphical update to be as close as possible to West's quality, and it's a success according to reviews, thus requiring good hardware like West makes perfect sense, and bundling the old version with the new one is more than fair. Moreover all these slanders about Aloy and the other recurring things are only jealous slanders of sterile propaganda for nothing, only wasted time.

No memory leaks, no issues under Ryzen 5800X 32GB and RX6600 8GB: everything is fine at high or very high settings thanks to framegen and upscaling, better than West which doesn't have these parameters yet and requires medium.

This game does not have a memory leak, you probably have an 8GB graphics card that poops out on the highest settings.

I have a 8GB GPU that hits close to 100fps when I first start the game then ♥♥♥♥♥ out at 30fps after 1-2 hours if I keep direct storage on.
If I disable direct storage and install the disk cache enabler mod from nexusmods I get a solid 60-80fps depending on where I'm at.
At that point the only thing that ruins the game is the cutscenes that don't clean up their ♥♥♥♥ after they play and tank my fps.
Don't lecture me on what my system can and can't handle. This game has serious memory allocation issues only clowns could ever defend, especially since the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ recommended spec is an 8GB card https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/radeon-rx-5700.c3437

Yes I was able to predict you had an 8GB card because I like to lecture people, not because of the fact that the game simply requires more VRAM to store and stream assets on higher resolutions and texture settings.

My 6800XT has none of the issues you describe. Can play for hours and hours without issues, but the game does creep up to 10.5GB on 1440P.

Maybe next time listen to Hardware Unboxed.

maybe next time they can respect their own recommended specs that they posted on the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ steam store page

nevermind zero dawn looks near identical with a reshade with not even half the performance differential of HFW

Also, the ♥♥♥♥ are you on about the higher resolutions and textures? The game behaves the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ same on all settings. I've tried the lowest possible settings that the game has and I still got 0 fps after a few hours of playing with direct storage on, and cutscenes caused bad performance in the same exact way

better defend the multibillion dollar companies some more

it's like they have an internal thing set to "the user has 16GB of vram use it all" or some dumb crap like that
Majestic Dec 28, 2024 @ 1:07pm
I launched the game on my 8 year old GTX 1080 / R5 2600X system that was collecting dust. Set it to high settings, quality upscaling and it ran 60fps+.

Seethe more. You are either feigning outrage, or you're trying to run it on a toaster.

yeah right thats the reason my 4090 only needs 47,5 % VRAM (45-50%)
bc the game told my GPU "take all my VRAM".
sadly its only ~50% from my 24 GB with 4k Ultra settings (120 FPS)

Are you sure.... its not a "you" problem?

3440x1440p it uses about 10.5GB. So that sounds about right that it uses around 11.5-12GB at 4K. But it's probably just a coincidence, he just has a different version of the game im sure.

jep
i got 4096x2160 but still no big diff.
FW needs 54% VRAM (+- a few %)

For some ppl its everytime the game or the devs.
Some problems are weird... yes. its "normal" with a Microsoft-system + XXX drivers
Most of those problems are solved with a fresh Driver installation (or other driver version) or a few windows-fixes (or some GPU settings)

idk what the hell you're on about I have the latest drivers

that you ran the game for literaly minutes doesn't show a damn thing since all this time I've been talking about performance drops AFTER CUTSCENES / AFTER MORE THAN 1 HOUR OF GAMEPLAY
