Poor performance on RTX 3070
Hello everyone, so recently I bought this game and I'm literally having piss poor performance getting about 40 fps with weird stuttering all over the place, frames suddenly dropping etc. am I the only one with this issue? I didn't have such issues with forbidden west
*Edit: Mind mentioning that my gpu usage during the clip was between 65% and 75%

What version of Windows? There are many issues with games for Win11 24H2 and the deployment is compromised. Also depending on the version of nVidia drivers there are problems, see previous threads on this subject. No problem for me with Ryzen 5800X and RX6600 even with high or very high settings since last patch thanks to framegen and upscaling.

There are issues with some versions of the nVidia driver, and with Windows 11 24H2 (especially HDR), from what I understood on this forum a few weeks ago, and this week.

8GB VRAM, 16GB system ram, gonna have a bad time. Lower texture settings, dont use frame generation.

I can understand the VRAM issue being kinda low for this game but what’s wrong with my RAM?

Your problem is not RAM and VRAM, but nVidia driver version and/or Windows 11 24H2, see old threads here and the press about that

This game saga is very optimized. I have no performance or heating problems with Ryzen 5800X 32GB, RX6600 8GB, NVMe Gen4 and Windows 10 at very high settings with framegen and upscaling.

And I just received a new 24" 100Hz screen at a very low price, instead of the 22" 60Hz: it's really smoother, it's incredible.

Does the same happen after a clean reboot? I was reading a few times people only put their PC in sleep, don't shut down.
This can cause issues with proper driver initialisation after waking up the pc.

Sometimes you can get away with less VRAM (448GB/s), if Windows can use RAM (64GB/S) instead. But if you dont have a lot of either, it goes to the SSD (16GB/s PCIe, but less for the drive itself). Not even talking about latency.
