Nobody is forcing you to buy a remaster. It’s a nice option for those that are interested. If not interested, you actually have this magical power that allows you to ignore it and you lose nothing.
And yes it worth the upgrade, the amount of work gone in to this remaster is quite substantial even after using a lot of assets from HFW there is also a lot of textures the have been completely reworked, tessellation added to areas that was flat.
There are videos that give in-depth details on whats been updated
Sure! Rebaking 12 different lightings (for the differents time off day which by the way is even demanding for a renderfarm) on the WHOLE map + hd terrain + HD textures + updating the lighting system and volumetric lighting/shadows to a level which is not even achievable in the version of the engine zero dawn was using. Transfering all the mocap from former to new models HD chara models, adding new camera angles for every dialogues in the game in a forbidden west style + adding all the performance capture on face on the whole game...
Dude your statement is lightyears aways from the reality of crafting this remaster. They basically ported forbiden west graphics to the 1st game which might have took at least 1 year. I'm not saying all this upgrade was necessary but saying you should not pay for devs having worked for 1 year. And don't tell me that modding could have reach this level for all the reasons above, this is total BS. Just look at the current states of the mods of zero dawn... You should also check for what is involved with porting a game to ultrawide when using a checkerborad rendring method, this is also a big deal. Game dev is way more complicated than you think. Please pay respect to the people who work very hard on this. You guys are killing me not knowing anything about what you're talking and if you are wondering why this is very important to me well maybe think a bit...
This sort of thing used to be a free patch on pc, so absolutely not.
NO. You need to know what you are talking about... This is not a patch. They rebuilt the game from the ground up under a diffrent engine... I'm not gonna explain this in detail again. I think you know how to read. If it's worth it is another question.
It's the same engine; decima.

If you aren't interested in replaying the game then it's probably not worth it
I KNOW!... This is specified in my 1st post please just read correclty. I assumed you knew how to read but apparently not. I explained that the lighting sytem they deployed was not even achievable in the previous version of the engine... It's decima from 2017. Which is like comparing unreal 3 to unreal 4 they are not the same engine. Many function are rewritten or totally replaced by new ones. You can't port game from version to version of an engine in the blink of an eye... Dude I've been doing 3d realtime rendering/CGI for 8 years now in the VFX industry. This is my job I'm passionate and I know what I'm talking about. I can garanty a lot of work went into this remaster. Damn how many times will I have to explain... Or maybe you wanna teach me a bit more about my job?
Do you realize how rude this is to us earing here and there people spitting on our work and knowing litterally nothing about it?
