FPS DROP on 4070s and UWQHD in Meridian
Hello everyone. Am I the only one having those issues? The whole game is ok at very high settings : around 80fps average often more even 110 to 120 with DLSS FG.
BUT when I arrive in meridian, the FPS falls to 30 or 40 FPS, it's horribly LAGGY. I've tried many tips (DX11, fullframe optimization blocked; run as admin....). It seems the game ask an enormous amount from Graphic card in that particular place though nowhere else till then.
I Tried to switch to my QHD and the things are much better :round 60-70fps though a slight drop in fps.
Is there an issue with UWQHD in Meridian? The other Horizon(forbidden west) runs so smoothly on the same PC ...I'm a Bit disappointed by that "older" Game.
Thank U

I'm not there yet but what are your CPU and GPU (RTX4070 I suppose) processors and what type of storage disk? It is normal that a big city requires significant resources given the beauty of the remaster rendered close to West. For example with a Ryzen 5800X 32GB, RX6600 8GB and NVMe Gen4 in FullHD, I am in High settings with framegen and XeSS antialias, no upscaling, but with meridian I expect to have to switch to Medium some options like with West, or even activate upscaling.

Me too, meridian is extremely laggy, i was expecting less performance in that area but i get really heavy drops. Something is weird about the vram management in this game, the only way to avoid going over 8gb is at medium texture quality, which helps out my heavy drops but the textures look so blurry and bad. And what's the point of getting a remaster if the graphics just look worse than original. Need optimizing

Like with West where I have to use medium textures and shadows, 4x anisotropic and XeSS upscaling. Which is quite logical for a game saga with such impressive graphics whose episodes are now at the same level.

It's not a question of optimization, I find the game very good on my CPU and GPU compared to other games half as beautiful. This remaster only needs to solve a few bugs, which is normal given the work accomplished and its surprise release.

Check your CPU/GPU specs against various YT benchmarks, etc. see if you get similar performance hit or not. If you do, then not much you can do than wait, maybe future patches will help.

Oh, wait.. you're running an Ultra Wide.. Well, that figures. Don't look for more performance boosting, you're running extra FoV which literally renders much more of the busy world in Meridian.. If you want more performance, drop the UW or upgrade your CPU..

FFS.. :steamfacepalm:

Every time you turn on frame gen, Jensen steals another 1$ from you and puts it towards another leather jacket..

14600K, no such drop, but I have instead started playing at 1080P rather than upscaling, image is much better as is the performance.

The game is CPU limited so listing your CPU is a must. Also with the latest Drivers I got 20% less FPS than using 560.94 plus the latest drivers seem to have face texture problems with Remaster and also Forbidden West

Here is the benchmark using the latest driver

I got the same cpu and gpu as you my friend, im quite envious of you getting those fps. only time i see an above 100 is at the main menu. in game my fps is around 50 or so with VERY frequent drops down to 13-15...currently got all settings on very high/ultra but thinking i may have to drop down to like just high or medium
