You'll need to wait for Valve or the Nixxes to do some work so you can bring your saves over on the Deck.
The wonderful world of gaming on a PC. Doesn't matter if it's Linux or Windows and can a pain that requires some patience.
Oh, well that's annoying they didn't figure that out before launch. But thanks for letting me know.
I guess you can load that save on Steam Deck then.
Steam Deck Verification is about playability. The remaster plays fine, no issues there. It's just that it won't recognize my saves from the original version, which I also played on Steam Deck. It's unclear why it can't recognize them if the game plays fine.
There is a tab there on load screen to swap between saves on current game and the old game.
This is how the load screen looks like here.
"Remaster saves" and "Imported Saves".

Here's the message I'm getting when I go to that page:

I don't know how old your saves are, but mine were from ~5 weeks ago.
Plan A:
Copy old saves from here to the remastered folder which probably is stored in Documents too. Hopefully the format isn't changed.
%USERPROFILE%\Documents\Horizon Zero Dawn\Saved Game\
%USERPROFILE%\Documents\Horizon Zero Dawn\Saved Game\profile\
Plan B:
Install the old HZD temporarily.
After installing it, start it, move around a bit and quit. It should auto save.
After quitting it will upload it to Steam cloud.
Hopefully the saves will show up in remastered for you.
I tried out this solution and it worked!!! If you're struggling like me please check out this person's a dean's solution from their other post!
