Not seeing option to load save from original version
I have both the original (complete edition) and the remaster on my steam deck. I've started the remaster, but I didn't see the place in the main menu where it gives me the option to start from my imported save. After starting a new game and quitting to the main menu I get the option to load saves, and from there I see "imported saves" as an option. But when I go there it says "No Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition saves detected. Horizon Zero Dawn - Remastered is capable of loading saves from Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition if they are present on this device." I don't understand, my saves are present on this device. I have gone back and forth between the two versions of the game to see if that would kick it into working. I only paid 10 bucks for the remaster so Steam knows I have the original.

Is anyone else having this issue? What do I need to do here to import my saves?

Looking at ProtonDB the remastered version has not been verified in any way on Proton or Steam Deck.

You'll need to wait for Valve or the Nixxes to do some work so you can bring your saves over on the Deck.

The wonderful world of gaming on a PC. Doesn't matter if it's Linux or Windows and can a pain that requires some patience.

Oh, well that's annoying they didn't figure that out before launch. But thanks for letting me know.

It's not Steam Deck verified, so I'm not sure what you were expecting from them.

If you have a Windows PC, you can import the save there, start the game so it can save a checkpoint.

I guess you can load that save on Steam Deck then.

I'm playing the game on a Windows PC, and don't see the option to import my save from Complete Edition. It says it doesn't detect a save file, even though I've beaten the game and completed the DLC. I want to start on New Game+.

Steam Deck Verification is about playability. The remaster plays fine, no issues there. It's just that it won't recognize my saves from the original version, which I also played on Steam Deck. It's unclear why it can't recognize them if the game plays fine.

There is a tab there on load screen to swap between saves on current game and the old game.

This is how the load screen looks like here.
"Remaster saves" and "Imported Saves".

I don't know how old your saves are, but mine were from ~5 weeks ago.

Plan A:

Copy old saves from here to the remastered folder which probably is stored in Documents too. Hopefully the format isn't changed.

%USERPROFILE%\Documents\Horizon Zero Dawn\Saved Game\
%USERPROFILE%\Documents\Horizon Zero Dawn\Saved Game\profile\

Plan B:

Install the old HZD temporarily.
After installing it, start it, move around a bit and quit. It should auto save.
After quitting it will upload it to Steam cloud.

Hopefully the saves will show up in remastered for you.
