HDR Game Focus Issue
I had this issue on HZD normal too and upgraded to Remaster to hopefully fix it but it did not help.

When enabling HDR on this game, my game blacks out anytime it loses focus for around 5 seconds.

If it was only when I alt tabbed it would be annoying but workable, but even Steam and Windows notifications triggers this issue.

This forces me to keep HDR off as i've already had it happen in the middle of combat causing things to go very bad.

But here's where it gets weird, it happens on this monitor: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08GL66PK4

HDMI 2.0 / DP 1.2, both cable types have had the issue. I used a HDMI 2.1 cable but my displays are only 2.0.

Windows 10, GeForce 4070 TI Super

Fullscreen (borderless Windowed) 1440p with HDR enabled at any refresh rate, i orig had HDR 165hz 8bit, realized I wasn't even getting 10 bit and realized bandwidth issues on DP 1.2/HDMI 2.0 was cause so went down to 60hz 1440p 10bit HDR.

But my black screen issue still occurs.

But here's where it gets weirder, if I run it on this monitor: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B083Z2RPB9
The issue does not occur. But those are my side monitors at 60hz 4k and I want to game on my bigger one in the center with higher refresh rate.

If I turn HDR off, the issue goes away, I can alt tab/move mouse to another window with no issue.

I've ran HDR on other games no issue. This is the only game i've had this happen with.

If i run with a bordered window with HDR, issue goes away.

It's only with Full screen/borderless with HDR it happens (I expect black screen things with exclusive fullscreen which is why i never use it)

I tried the HZDR Configure tool and adjusted Window sizes and such to all be 1440 and If I position it unmaximized with 1px shift so most of the titlebar is hidden, issue goes away, but sadly the taskbar overlays the game so not a great experience

If I set window top/left to 0 to be a no border show, it acts like its fullscreen and issue returns.

The brightness is just really too bright on this game w/o HDR and would love to keep HDR enabled, but its really unplayable with this bug.

The bug really sounds like what is described here: https://www.reddit.com/r/OLED_Gaming/comments/vsnxxv/workaround_for_5s_black_screen_when_alttabbing/
But my monitors are not even DSC, and running at lower refresh rates does not fix it.

any advice?

well ReShade has at least helped bring some fake hdr back into the game for me, just wish could use native hdr.

Strange. I get the 3-4s blank when alt-tabbing but not when overlays like the steam achievement window pops up. My monitor, an Alienware AW3423dwf, also does not support DSC as far as I know. I run it at 3440x1440, 100Hz, 10bpc so it shouldn't be anywhere near the limit of DP1.4's data rate either.

are your notifs popping up on the same monitor? mine are, if yours aren't, that's likely why.

Could prob fix that with changing primary to another monitor but it is nice for games to just default open on the correct monitor....

I only use one monitor on my gaming PC. Only steam notifications I get are the achievement unlocked boxes that pop up in the lower right corner. Doesn't cause any disruption.

workaround is to use Special K and disable games HDR and use Special K to enable HDR
