There's some kind of glitch with the Ice Hunter Heavy armor. The white metallic parts of the armored are badly smeared and ghosting, like they've been hit with gaussian blur and motion blur at the same time. Happens both in game and in cutscenes. I haven't noticed it happening to any other armor and messing the graphics settings doesn't have any effect.

I only clicked the links because I know imgur sanitizes uploads by converting them. That said, I don't understand what you're talking about and I don't see anything wrong with these images. It's old, damaged metal. Can you be more specific?

The textures on the white armored parts are smeared and distorted. It's easiest to see if you make the image full size and compare the metallic parts of Aloy's headdress to the bands around her face. When she moves the textures are hazy and smear off the model.

I find it realistic on the contrary, as said. And I don't see any difference between the headdress and the parts on the torso and arms. Maybe your feeling comes from the lights and reflections, which are fine in my opinion. Or from your screen. If the problem you see is in the movement, the static image does not render it. But it's me, maybe someone else will understand and see what you perceive. Also, what are your graphic settings? Low or High? Do you use upscaling and how?

The issue is it's not supposed to look like that. I've used that armor in the base version of the game and seen screencaps from other players for the remaster. It's supposed to have clean, sharp edges, no smearing, no ghosting, and definitely not a haze of pixels floating around the character. It doesn't happen with any of the other costumes that have similar armor plates or any of the NPCs who wear them, just this costume and the Banuk Ice Hunter Light costume.

I'm using high and very high settings and no upscaling. Like I said in my first post, whatever the issue is it's completely unaffected by changing any of the in-game graphics options. I tried everything in the menu on all settings. It almost seems like the textures for those two costumes are rendering at the wrong resolution. It doesn't show up in the screencaps I took but when you pan the camera around, the textures become really distorted, like they're tearing vertically in alternating rows.

Thus maybe it's a desire to make the armor and worn metal more real, I don't know.

Maybe you've solved this already, but I was also experiencing this issue with the Banuk Ice Hunter Heavy armour. The cloth was fine, but the metal headpiece and the metal pieces attached to the material seemed to be actively vibrating, thus becoming blurry.

I was playing in 'fullscreen' at 144Hz, and I've since changed it to 'exclusive fullscreen' with v-sync turned on, and while the issue is very-slightly still there, it is far better than what it used to be. As someone else who has been searching for a fix for this, I hope this helps.

Thanks for the suggestion! That did help a little bit. I noticed it was also happening to one of the other Banuk armors but not the master level armor. What a weird glitch.
