Decline Upgrade?
Coming back to HZD after a year. Before resuming game on Steam will I be able to decline the upgrade or is it automatic when I start the game? My game is modded and I know some of the mods won't work on the remastered version.

The remastered is a separate version that you purchase. Original isn't affected.

Don't do it! The remaster is more buggy, has a more restricted FOV (max is like 70-80 of 100 in original), only looks a little better and only in some places, others look worse, and runs MUCH worse (unless you have top end GPU and don't care). It crashes, crashes again, and then crashes some more, just plop to desktop, gone. No error, no nothing. That saweet purple mod you just got...gone!

FOV and awful new lighting comparison (original is not even max at 90/100):

You don't even own the upgrade and yet you are spreading false information. The upgrade looks way better than the original. And it does not crash like you mentioned. I don't even own a top end GPU and I have played almost 26 hours without a single crash.

So much nonsense in one post. It looks vastly different and there are far more changes from the original than just visual.

I've had one crash in two playthroughs on the initial release, after patching, nothing.

It’s a separate game. So much so that you will be earning achievements again.

They don't force anything, gtfo of here.

Thanks everyone for the info. Appreciated. I decided not to OK the remaster as the game looks and runs great on my rig. And I like the mods. :)

Can you play the game without making a PSN account and linking it to your Steam account? No, you can't ... unlike the original version which requires no such garbage. It's forced if you make the mistake of 'upgrading'.
Yes, you can, it is 100% optional.
