Concrete Beach Party - audio datapoint corrupted
Just looking to see if anyone else has found this. I reported the issue in the initial version and it is still there as of 1.3. I have always done a verify install file integrity via Steam.

The Frozen Wilds audio datapoint, Final Performance (Concrete Beach Party song), is corrupt with white noise beyond a certain time index. In versions 1.0, 1.1 this occurred for me at 49 seconds. In version 1.2 it moved to 59 seconds and is still 59 seconds in 1.3. Datapoint total length is like 1:49.

Someone ELSE listened to that entire data point? :)

Yeah, heard the white noise. Never happened in Complete edition.

Thanks for responding, so it is apparently not just me.

As for listening to the datapoint, well, GG seemed to like the song. It is in Forbidden West as well. Erend listens to the song at the Base.

Edit: someone merged this "duplicate post" here because I posted a similar thread before seeing this one, thanks.

Beware Datapoint: Final Performance (data corrupted, no really!)
Warning: The Datapoint: "Final Performance" (Frozen Wilds, Dam area) gets right to the part after they sing "We're the last girls on Earth" Then EXPLODES into loud static that will blow your ears out if wearing headphones. "Data Corrupted..." for real, the sound file is borked? Just me?

I tested on two different sound devices and a bunch of in game sound settings, did it every time. The original plays the whole "song" all the way through. -sigh, yet another bug in the remaster.

I just posted a similar thread before seeing yours, doh! Yep, same corrupted audio file, right after they sing "We're the last girls on Earth. Big...ZHHZHZHZHZHZHzhzhzzZHZHZHZHZHZHZ".

Like to blew my ear drums out. I tested two different sound devices and bunch of in game settings. "Data corrupted..." every time, same spot. Original game plays it perfectly. I am sort of running them side by side, comparing things.

Just came across the same problem with the corrupted audio on the song data point but i'm also seeing flashing white spots at the bottom of the screen when you look at the floor beneath the ladder.

Haven't encountered that recording yet, but did anyone of you actually report it to Nixxes support?

OP said he reported it in the initial version.

You're right... I overlooked that.
Well it SHOULD be easy to fix... guess they have more pressing issues...

Yeah, Nixxes has been pretty responsive with their official bug reporting thing. I'm not sure how much they comb through these steam forum posts for bugs. The actual nixxes bug reporting site lets you upload your save file, and some other bits of diagnostic things they want in order to figure out if there is a problem. If you have these problems, go ahead and submit them directly. If enough of us do it, they'll probably realize it's an important issue.

Corrupt audio is still there in 1.4.
I just ran into this yesterday, and it really hurt my ears. the problem is not resolved by verifying the integrity of the game files.
The french version doesn't seem to have this issues, maybe it's specific to english audio.

Interesting. Do they "sing" the song in French in the French version? If so then yeah, that would be a completely different audio file (think .wav or .mp3 file) and would explain it. I'm guessing they resampled or converted the audio for the remaster in some way (.mp3 to .ogg or whatever), and just flat out corrupted the English one somehow. Yet another easy fix they could not be bothered to do.
