Game Stilling Running After Closing It

I'm one of the many who have the issue where Steam says that the game is still running even though it is officially closed.

Game doesn't close on its own

Anyone else have this issue? Game plays great, but when I exit out, it sticks in 'Running' status and I have to click the STOP button in Steam for it to close all the way. Not a big deal, but just wondered if anyone else was experiencing it. Other then this little issue, this remaster is out-effin-standing! Nixxes does it again, they are Gods of the PS ports.

Notice this earlier, as it took me past the refund window... coincidence...? Probably.

If you run it and quit then the game is still showing as running in steam - try and boot it again and it will fail as the game is already running. Have to hard stop it every time.

A known issue with PSN SDK, you can add the following to launch options which seems to fix the issue

-showlinkingqr

I mean it's like 10$ so take that as a lesson next time you might want to refund a game and make sure that steam doesn't think the game is still running after you quit.

I've discovered that if you disconnect your controller first, and then use m+kb to exit the game, it closes. At least it has the three times I've remembered to do it.

For those that find this, and Nixxes hasn't patched a fix yet, if you disconnect your controller and then use m+kb to exit the game, the game seems to close properly.

This seems to be caused by an issue of the PSN overlay, mostly on Windows 11.

Try using the launch option "-showlinkingqr" in the game's properties. That effectively disables the PSN overlay and should solve the problem.

This is a known issue with Windows 11 24H2 build. Atm there is no fix is for this but yeah for now we have to manually stop any game on Steam that has PSN integration as the PSN processes continue to run in the background even after the game exe is no longer running on quitting to the desktop.

This does not happen on 23H2 build btw... idk if Microsoft are aware of this but if they are, they need to find a way to fix this.

I've seen this posted a lot but it didn't work for me. What did work was going into Task Manager and manually closing the PSN connection. After I killed it once, it didn't return and the game now closes correctly.

This happens due to Playstation PC SDK program running on the background.If you close it from the task manager, the game quits!!
