Which is why i started thinking about unarmed melee character.. less casting, more pummeling enemies dead with fists, meaning less resting required and more focus on actually exploring the world.
Ah well, i'll take another look and see if i can fit the skill into the mage's build or something.
If you only rest for 3 ticks at a time, you don't get attacked
weapon damage + strength/speed bonus + weapon skill + others.
So while a strong max strength warrior would still do ok damage with unarmed, the "weapon damage" part would be left out, leaving you with less damage overall. Using that sword that does 7 (+3 enchanted) damage compared to fists that don't have a damage rating/bonus enchanted.
It would be useless for a non warrior because strength based damage wouldn't be good since you are probably boosting perception with your mages and dex or such with your archers. Why pick up a piddling skill for something you aren't really going to use except smashing barrels. Level 1 works fine for that. I wouldn't make ANY caster with unarmed when i'm going to be blasting with spells, not punching stuff. As a mage, why aren't you blasting stuff with a fire dart and trying to punch it instead. Nope.
So unarmed would be ok i guess with a strength based warrior, but even then it would be less than weapons because you don't have any magical unarmed fist weapons in the game. So we can do X damage with a weapon, or X-(weapon damage) with fists. Nope.
