Missing graphics

Linux Mint 16 x64. Laptop computer with Nvidia Optimus andIntel 4000 integrated graphics.
I cannot use primusrun to start the game, it seems to be able to use my integrated graphics only, but the game starts up OK, and is very smooth and has high fps, so whatever.
I cannot see my ship though, all I see are two small black squares, which I guess are the flames from the engines. There are also other graphics missing, like the particles (rocks? bubbles?) in the waterfall on the very first in-game screen, and the pickups are just black squares, too.

Any help is appreciated.

This happens for me too, and I have the same specs: Linux Mint 16 x64 with intel4000. I can't see my ship and the interface (i mean the bottom bar with HP, points etc) is broken

Same configuration here. Linux Mint 16 i5 with intel 4000 and Optimus (620M). I don't have any problems running with optirun.

Hello there, I found solution for this issue :)
Simply install libtxc-dxtn i386 package by running this command:

sudo apt-get install libtxc-dxtn-s2tc0:i386

then restart your PC. I hope it will work for you too :D
