I am unable to pick up the valve in the room with the bloody table and the lighter./fluid and the bottle of painkillers. Any suggestions?

In the room with trap walls, I'm unable to pick up the gear after stopping the trap wall. It shows a circle when moused over but unable to pick it up, whereas picking up sword with right click works. Pretty much got to a point where I am stuck and cannot progress further, unable to visualise the 4-digit code also. Such a pity I was enjoying this. I believe I needed a gear of some sort to access the 2nd ladder underground. Also, noticed "Continue" or Load Game sometimes don't work, lead to screen frozen at...

I have tried to set the game to have subtitles etc. but it won't work....i have tried several times now....any suggestions appreciated.

Looks like a fun game to play with a VR headset. Any option for this?
