This game was created in the wake of SimCity 2013's flop. One of Maxis's (SimCity dev) failures was ignoring the modding community and discommoding them. Colossal Order made this game easily modifiable and has always been focused on promoting its modding and asset creator community. And unlike Maxis, CO was a small dev team whose only experience prior to this was their two Cities in Motion games, which are about managing public transit.
Why wouldn't a game from 2020 run faster than a game from 2015? LOL!
This is wrong on so many levels lol.
Have you seen the performance of flight simulator 2020? It is one of the games with the most demand for performance, even the most powerful modern gamer equipment cannot run with more than 60 fps in ultra, and curious, cities skylines is from 2015, grand theft auto v is from 2013, and it runs to me solid 60 fps. It is because of the excellent optimization, I know that rockstar games is a large company, and colossal order does not have the same number of employees. But a modder who works from home with his software and code and without receiving money, can do everything that a company has not done in years, how about that? and I'm not trying to insult anyone. I say it with all due respect my friend.
I know what you are saying, this game could be optimized better. But think for a second about how much simulation is going on at once--I've never played GTA V myself, but I've seen enough of it on YouTube to know that it isn't simulating tens of thousands of vehicles and cims at once with all of their separate movements and destinations. This game is pretty fantastic for what it's worth, but it is about time for sequel.
Also, for the record, some of the modders have been recruited by CO or been allowed to release assets as DLC.
good point.
