Yeah, I concur. The utility mods produced by the enthusiastic CS community has greatly enhanced the game. I believe CO will continually develop CS & it has the potential to become a professional tool for researchers & designers.

I agree with Nu3n0, hell I wouldn't be surprised, legos have been utilized for architecture before.

games can certainly help in this regard, but nowadays there are actual programs to assist as well.

Poor girl is really uncomfortable with the task of presenting the talk, but still a nice presentation :healthvial:

Not with the current traffic simulation it wont.
TransportNut Sep 22, 2017 @ 2:55pm
Oh ♥♥♥♥ off with the complainers about traffic simulation. If you aren't happy with Vanilla + Mods, then go splash £20,000 (per-year) on a license for PTV Visum or Paramics Discovery. Look forward to seeing you crawl back here when you haven't a clue how to work it becuase it's far too technical...
TransportNut Sep 22, 2017 @ 2:56pm
Also, congrats- great presentation! We used Minecraft, Lumion 3D and SimCity (ugh) a few years ago pre-Skylines in our Urban Planning degree. Skylines would probably tick all the boxes now!

Not with the traffic hogging one lane it wont!
JulieSmiles Sep 22, 2017 @ 3:56pm
if they can get the traffic AI to work absolutly I feel thats the major issue when it comes to city sim games all have the treffic issue even moreso on Smcity online ( the super flop) all because of traffic AI and restrictive areas, Skyline has a def chance here.

Can't say I agree with this. The simulation (not just the traffic simulation) is far too shallow and simple. It's would be unwise to use this for any real-life scenarios, including urban planning. I think they are in over their heads with this.

I agree with @stockjr97 but then again its TED talk, its for dummies, they will eat it up.
