Any progress? Because this is exactly the thing that keeps me from playing. I made a topic about this issue directly after release, tried out many mods, but sadly have not found a satisfactory solution. I would really like to give this game another go, but not without individual building placement (I'd like to be able to make entire areas use the same type of housing), which has been the standard for me ever since SC3000 en then SC4 and then CitiesXL. I'm still playing CitiesXL instead of Cities Skylines, because in XL I can place every building individually and prevent changes to the look and theme of areas.
It needs to be simple and direct. There's a mod out there that prevent buildings from upgrading, which is cool, but it still won't allow me to place identical looking buildings in districts, I have to let it grow, demolish, grow, demolish and hope that eventually the building I want pops up. There's also a mod that allows me to make style templates for districts, but it's not what I'm looking for either.
I hope someone knows how this can be achieved, maybe there's an overlooked mod out there that does exactly this, I might have missed it.
