Then I place it between my « real » live commercial buildings and my residential buildings as a buffer. Visually it fills the space. As a buffer it helps provide separation of uses. The downside is the loss of functionality, but I usually find I have a surplus of commercial anyways and not enough well-educated workers to flip all those intellectually challenging burgers.

I do something similar in agricultural area so that I can get actual residential farmhouses in the rural area without the farm families being driven insane with noise.
