860M deffo =)
It was money well spent in this case imo ;)
but as laptops go, they have low powered parts for exstending battery life, which means low performance. I'd recommend 860m or better. If you like mods and adding new buildings with a large map, you'll need 16GB ram. otherwise 8GB for base game.
Remember, laptops are for mobility/business, if you want to game with a laptop it will not be cheap. Over a $1,000 typically.
Weird thing is, NVIDIA Experience tells me I should put all my settings on low for C:S... but I play fine on very high
What's your budget.. to make laptops worth it for some gaming, you need to spend over $1,000... otherwise just buy a cheap laptop for work and build a desktop. Lenovo, MSI, adn Gigabyte have great mid range decent priced laptops. I have an ASUS, it's not bad, but I think Gigabyte would be better. I have owned the Y50 as well, but I couldn't stand the screen.
I highly recommend Asus by far. They have the best BIOS and overclocking features. Usually Asus will force turbo boost 24/7 to get best performance. Default is boost only comes on at light load, and slows down under heavy load.
Just pick a model and Google it for gaming performance and see if they quote forced turbo boost or something.
Game not changing speed is the lag. Stutter will come soon.
You should listen. You'll get your game speed back.
These are all good choices as well. I like Lenovo (They bought out the IBM PC division). They have reliable systems. Gigabyte is on the fence. They lack in support and features and quality. But when they work, they are good. If they don't work right support is a PAI. Same with Asus, horrible tech support. But excellent quality control. Asus keeps things updated more regularly than anyone.
If you only need this for gaming, just get the best processor and graphics you can afford and 16gb RAM.
I have and didn't see any difference in performance. Still couldn't change speed. I do feel though that this save game is bugged though so I'm going to make a new city and see how it performs.
Overall, if you're not used to great monitors and also aren't picky about it, the Lenovo Y50 is an excellent mid-spec budget laptop. It's speakers alone was AMAZING and it stayed relatively cool although I only owned it for 1 week. Try finding one with 4GB of VRAM, but if you'r eok with forking over $300 extra for the top tier mobile GPU 970m and 980m, look at Gigabyte and MSI
u don't need a rocket engine gpu to play this game. just tune down stuffs ingame to enjoy it.
