That's all you can really do.
I really hope this is a bug that CO is aware of. I think they should be, since it has been a huge problem since like, day one of release. For some reason, the 1.1 update didnt fix it. I hope it comes in the next one, because it is an absolute game killer.
so basically: yeah, you're boned.
If you make maps, be nice and have the segments of track at the egde of the map very long and simple.
Edit: My city is offically screwed. Trains backed up in both directions leaving my map, all the way deep into my city. My goods are unable to effeciently get exported/imported leading to my commerical buildings going abandoned left and right due to lack of products. And my income has gone from nearly +65K a week to right around 0$, or negative. Prolly worse if I continue to play. And this is with NO (0) train mods. Very frustrating.
- Plan your train network (as anything else)
- Only use generic trains (the ones that come with the game, no add-on)
- Always make long enough side tracks for cargo and passengers stations (to hold waiting trains)
- Make junctions betwen tracks as you want your traffic to give access (give space between them if you can to avoid jams, ex. 1 train lenght and more)
- Don't abuse of junctions and plan it well (too close or too many nearby can cause jams)
- Try isolate cargo from passengers (you control traffic with junctions and tracks)
- Add tracks side by side as traffic increases (don't forget you can make undergroud or overpass tracks)
- Use subway instead of close enough heavy passengers stations (ex. suburbs, airport, etc)
- Make transfer stations for heavy city ends lines (so outside trains can't go in and vice versa) when jammed
- Have fun :)
Thanks and great game indeed!
What I am seeing is multiple trains leaving a station with either zero passengers on board or only one or two, which is causing this massive train jam. I think Colossal Order need to look into this more because it gets to a point where industry starts to stagnate due to the number of parked trains.
