I will try these out though, thanks!
I would think it's so easy to someone who knows what they are doing, maybe I'm wrong.
All it really needs is to take the purple grass pollution fuction, make it work as a brush tool, and change the color to a slightly brighter green.
I hope someone will have a stab at this at some point, the grass as it is is just a little too bland for my parks.
First of all some assets use their own textures, while others will use the terrain texture for grass. So bear that in mind for parks.
Secondly, The Color Correction option in Options (while in game) will allow you to change the lighting. This has a huge effect on the colour and brightness of all textures. You can also subscribe to different colour correction settings (LUT's) from the Workshop.
Some examples of different lighting

As you can see, there is a clear difference in appearance. Maybe this is enough for you. If not, then let's play with different textures and look at those 3 scenes/lighting again ;)
There is a great mod called Terrain Texture Replacer; it's one of my favourites. With it you can swap out the default textures for any texture you want. So, if it's different coloured grass, or sand or water, or gravel....etc. Free textures are readily available everywhere, so you can use whatever you like.

'My textures' are different textures I've swapped out using the Terrain Texture replacer for all of the default terrain texture types. I particularly like this water texture, which has much increased transparency.
Hope this gives you some inspiration and I'll leave you with one of the nicest terrain replacements for grass... snow ;)

Thanks for the post, I'll take a look at this.
Is there any way to keep the default grass texture, but change it only in places I want to? Or you have to swap out all the grass?
I'll use the snow replacement as it clearly shows what has changed and what hasn't as an example.

Wow that snow looks cool.
You see, what I really want is the grass like the football pitch, but I want to be able to paint it where I want it!
Do you think painting on new textures is out of the question?
It would be great to be able to have a snowy town in the mountain and normal summer grass everywhere else!!
Would be nice if my current 2 guides hadn't been removed from the Guides section without notification or reason given. Until I know why, I'm not submitting anything more.
