How the **** do you make tunnels?

Playing a vanilla game to see if my issue was mods but no matter HOW MUCH i Page DOWN, I get no tunnel.

PageDn while placing road/rail. Basically the opposite to making bridges ;)

Select the road building tool, select the type of road you want to build, press Page Down, draw your underground road et voilà.

PgDown should do it. It sounds like your game hasn't updated for some reason. Do you see the european maps when starting a new city?

Have you altered keyboard shortcuts? It's basically whatever the 'lower road' (can't remember what it's called) shortcut is.

PgDn works when I have a bridge set to be placed but not tunnels, shortcuts are default and I'm running v1.1.0b.
While placing....so your saying the initial node MUST be underground first? You're not able to start above ground and then go down?

No, you start above ground so you're drawing a new piece of road like normal (you should see the blue "road will go here" outline) and then press PgDown to make it burrow in to ground.

OK verdict one of the mods I use ignores tunnel creation time to figure out which one

Edit: Basically my problem was I was still using a mod that was removed from the workshop, namely Steeper Slopes

Ah, good to know, I'll mark that as a problem mod.

EDIT: Is there newer (fixed?) version of it in workshop?

This was my same problem, gonna check if I have Steeper Slopes.

The mod was removed from the workshop, the ID is unused.

Well either way I unsubbed from it in my list so that's fixed.
