Mac: How to take a Screenshot?
Hey everyone,

i'm running C:S on Mac and i'm having some issues with creating screenshots.

Due to the fact, that on Mac the default-setting for taking a screenshot (F12) is already bound to "Volume Up" (OSX feature), i assigned a new combination (Shift + S) via in-game options. Also i have to disable Steam-Overlay, cause it's buggy with C:S on Mac.

After pressing my "take screenshot" key-combination several times, i got no visual feedback in-game (does C:S give any feedback on successful screenshots anyway?), also i couldn't find any screenshots on my HDD or within Steam.

My question now is: Is it possible with my setting to take screenshots at all? And if so: What's the screenshots' path on my HDD?

Thanks & cheers!

disable Steam-Overlay = no more steam screenshot.
you got to use the ingame screen shot witch is set to shift+f12
and then got save I dont know where

edit: Added screenshot shortcuts to rebindable input (default is F12 for normal screenshot and shift+F12 for hi-res screenshot, also local screenshots now go to gameUserFolder/Screenshots) Steam screenshot feature is untouched and still the preferred method to take screenshots

gameUserFolder/Screenshots mean for window 8.1

C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Colossal Order\Cities_Skylines\Screenshots

Thanks for your reply, saw the comment in last patch's update notes as well. My problem is, that i can't find any of said folder-structure on my Mac, so i guess filepath naming is different here.

So what you're calling an "ingame screen shot" with default key binding "Shift + F12" is the so called "hi-res screenshot" feature that works independly from steam? Because i cannot play C:S with active Steam-Overlay on Mac, so the default Steam-screenshot feature is no option for me.

Easy to take screen shots on your mac- this works for ALL screens!
For full screen: command-shift-3
For selected area: comman-shift-4, this will turn mouse cursor into crosshairs- click and drag over the area you wish to capture.
Simple & straightforward- this works in any game or any webpage- any screen appearing on your mac. The images are jpegs.

and are saved where ?
I'll try this @MouttonNoir, didn't even think of OSX's System feature!

By default those screenshots are saved on your desktop.
Yes gandalf , simple and straightforward!
MouttonNoir nails it! And, confirmation from the Finder Help --

Take pictures of the screen

Pictures of the screen (called screenshots) are saved automatically as files on the desktop.

If you prefer to instead copy the screenshot to the Clipboard so you can paste it into a document, hold down the Control key while you press the other screenshot keys.

Take a picture of the whole screen
Press Shift-Command-3.

Take a picture of part of the screen
Press Shift-Command-4.

Move the crosshair pointer to where you want to start the screenshot.

Press the mouse or trackpad button, then drag over the area you want to capture.

When you’re ready to take the screenshot, release the mouse or trackpad button.

To cancel, press Escape before you release the mouse button.
