Wierd bug, no people in city

I have built Cities before, however, recently I began a new city and no people moved in. I had all of the amenities and proper road connections and all of that. People had proper houses and such but the population meter said I have zero population. Any ideas?

Was your city correctly connected to the Highway connection?

I had this bug, was because the maps roads were not setup correctly. Go into the editor and check the motorways to ensure that the roads are not broken for that map, also sometimes maps which are built for right-hand traffic might not work for left-hand traffic, and vice versa.

I have a similar bug, bought the game only a few days ago, but since yesterday's patch, weird stuff is going on. There are no cars, yet houses are build, still noone is living in the city.

I've made several maps... All have worked fine. Then I made a new one yesterday and while it shows I have a population.. I don't have vehicles or people walking around. It's a ghost town... Kind of eirry.

It's not a bug.
When you zone residential, the houses will be built before anyone arrives to move into them. Therefore you can see housing but no population. It's up to you to make sure the new residents can enter the city and reach their new homes. Check your road layout, particularly the connections to the city entrances. There may be an intersection asset missing due to the patch or simply a broken connection.

Interesting. This could be a bug. Please upload the save game so we can take a look firsthand.
Edit: just seen your crosspost in the patch thread. You say this applies to a new map you created. Check in the map editor that your connection to the outside is correctly set.

You might have a highway piece facing the wrong direction, creating a dead end. You can have the highway connected just fine, but if a single piece is backwards nobody will get to your city.

It would be worthwhile checking your road connections again. That was the cause of all my problems- roads were set up to allow cims to leave my city bot couldn't enter it. I convinced myself everything was aligned correctly but had to eat humble pie- I screwed up! Any problems I have encountered are generally of my own making- human error!

Same problem here, i tried a new map, only one road, after 5-10 minutes traffic lightens and so on .... no traffic or population after around 1000 people, this must be a bug, its replicable.

Start the game, go to Content Manager/Saved games and find one for that city, give it a suitable name and click SHARE. That will upload it to the Workshop and we can then subscribe to it and take a closer look.

my friend gets the same problem with a saved game of yesterday (where all went right). he loadet the game and suddenly no traffic after 5-10 minutes, no coal or oil ist deliverd, yesterday all was fine

I continued work on one city of 150k today and also completed a city of just 5k. I observed no ghostly goings on in either, so this is specific to you and your game.
If it is replicable, please do the same as I advised luckIvan above. Also within the Shared save game description please list all of the mods you used.

ok, i disabled all mods (had only autosave and automatic bulldozer) and i replicated it once more. This is a map i played several times but today it is broken ... no idea (as is write before my friend is also affected but with an other map), i have some buildings from the workshop enabled but thats all. I have done as you asked, the savegames name: no_traffic_for_me.
